the screen looks like an hour glass slight bowing on the top and slight bowing on the bottom with extreme bowing in the middle. looks a little like this... ) ( ... it always go back to this hour glass shape, however i can sometimes kick it directly in the back of the set towards the bottom and it will go back to normal. However it always go back to this convex shap. Im tired of kicking my set. :-) i need help. is this something i can replace myself? thanks jim

usually when the picture is bowed, chips are going out. BUt since you can kick it and fix it at times, sounds like bad solder points. if its just soldering, then it souldnt cost anything but labor.

PussSquatch is correcrt, it just needs to have some soldering done. Specially at the convergence output ICs. These are common problems due to the heating and cooling of those chips. (STKs)
