No, not normally...there are exceptions if you were being attacked, but you will still have a big fine...and if its a grizzly you better make sure you were ATTACKED!! Could go to jail for it. You can get a black bear license is some states during the open season, but it depends on the population of the bears

If they are in season yes. If not you will be charged with poaching. Bear and whitetail season is usually the same in New York but not all hunting sections are open to hunting bear. You better read up from you local gaming department before you shoot anything at all.

In most states that have a defined season for bears, it's legal if/when you have the proper tags/licenses for bears. Any other circumstance (besides being attacked) will land you in hot water. Check your states' hunting regulations to find out. Please, take a hunters education/safety course and familiarize yourself with all applicable laws and put safety ahead of all else.

You can not hunt bear without getting a bear license. You can not shoot a bear while licensed to hunt any other animal.
Bears, like you, have a right to live.
Special concessions are made if the bear attacks. You better have proof that it attacked. Shredded camp or person.
You can hunt bear if you get licensed and that is usually held like a raffle, You put your name in for the license and if your name pops up then you get one. They usually allow bear hunting in special areas where the bear population is getting too high and people are becoming endangered. These special areas can be close to refuges or areas where human building encroaches on bear habitats.
I have hunted bear. It is no easy hunt. See, the thing is, as you hunt the bear it is hunting you. It knows where you are and tries to avoid you. If It's a rogue or a female with cubs. It hunts you to kill you and might even eat you. Females will defend the cubs and killing you protects the babies.
The most dangerous bears are Kodiak Grizzly and Polar bears. The black bear does it's level best to avoid people. They understand rifle=death. I was hunting them and when I pulled out the rifle the bear did a 180 and ran to escape.
Pest bears are most often darted and transported to safe areas. Hunting licenses for bears is on the decline.
I hope this covers it. TC

<>If there is an open season on bears in your state or area, then you may hunt them if you have the proper license or endorsement. There may also be restrictions on size, so ask for a copy of the hunting regulations when you get your license.
BTW, you can most definitely eat bear meat...it is quite good when prepared like pot roast.

The gun is quite to boot the factor. could be a bow or a spear, same concern. the different components that I relish are my understanding of my ecosystem and the peace of the organic international. looking connects me with all people who got here earlier. in spite of everything, up until the final little collectively as our human beings lived fullyyt by looking and accumulating. Agriculture is only some hundreds years previous, and we people have been around plenty longer than that.
