The world in general. But any topic that has so many view points that people get very emotional about will create such hatred. Politics is another good example.

Religions nowadays are misused as ways to get to the top, to power. Many religions leaders have political agenda which contrasted to religions goals. Religions and politics are not in the same channel.
People are not comfortable with this and express their disapproval mainly in hatred, either hating their own religion or someone else's.
It's not really "religions" people hate. It's the bad people using religions behind their evil actions for justifications. They also spread out some lies about other religions so people will hate each other. Apparently this trick works and they achieved their goal, the power over people.
So it's up to you, are you going to fall to their dirty trick or are you going to be wiser?
We need to stop this and we need to start talking with other people without prejudice.

I'm not really sure, but the question is intriguing.
If you look at a variety of world religions, most of them have basically the same goals: Treat yourself well, treat your neighbors well, share a little of your time and wealth with others who need it more than you, show respect for a higher power, live an ethical life. Almost every one of them, if you look at their basic teachings, will say these things in their own words.
Then I look at our reality. Different religious groups argue with one another about HOW to be good people and HOW to show respect for a higher power, and so on. so much for respect your neighbors.
Besides, I have issue with the churches who have a sign outside their door that says "All Are Welcome" but then has lists of persons that they would never allow near their door. So sad....
But even if I don't understand why these groups do what they do, I certainly don't HATE them. My own belief would frown on that concept.

The world in general. Religion is personal emotion in action. It's bound to get people riled up. We need to have a 'Don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding religion. However those that believe they must convert others will never go for it.

In the world generally. Have you not heard that the quickest way to start a fight is to discuss politics and religion. Everybody has their own ideas and are ready to defend their stance.

When Jesus was on the earth, He taught the Truth of Himself to everyone. Some loved Him for it, some hated Him. He was killed for the Truth, for Who He was. It's no different today. Jesus Christ challenges people - you, me, everyone. He shows you who you are and who you can become in Him. Sometimes (most times, I'd say) that is very painful for people to see. This is why the hatred and anger. Notice, the closer you get to God, the harder things get. Why? The more you become like Jesus, the more you love like Him, the more the world will hate you, just like they hated Jesus; and yet even though they hated Him, He still loved them, and died for them.
God bless.

I really think this is a hot subject that people have divided lines and neither side wants to join on the other side. In heated moments hateful things can slip out.

everywhere religion is expressed or discussed, there will be someone who follows another belief and who cant tolerate anyone's but their own. It all comes down to tolerance. We dont need to all believe in the same God or the same stuff, but we do all need to allow each other freedom believe what they choose, without judging them for it. After all, no one wants to be told what to believe, so no one should be trying to force anyone else to believe in something.
