Jesus never used those words, although he often referred to God as his father. We are all children of God and we all call God our father. Jesus, the man was an ordinary human being like you and I ... but he was chosen to bring a message from God and what made him different was the elevated state of his consciousness which he attained by studying in India (that's not in the Bible, although there are records of him studying with the Buddhists). Also the sound current which flowed through him. It actually flows through all of us and can be tapped into for those who seek to find. Many do not understand this, but it can be verified for those who yearn for more than what life has shown them thus far. "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

PS Brad does not allow email but he has misquoted Luke 22:66-71

So they all said, “Are you the Son of God, then?” He answered them, “You say that I am.” Then they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”

Hi,

Don't worry, that's ok to want to konw the "proof" that Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. Actually, it's an excelent question!

Some people say that the fact that Jesus is the Son of God is Christian-made, and that He never claimed to be divine...

The truth is that Jesus did claim to be God made flesh, the Messiah, sent from Heaven (read the book of John, for example). Jesus claimed to be the Messiah (Messiah means "the Annointed", just like Christ which comes from the greek word "Cristos", which also means "the Annointed"; and the Bible tells us in the book of Isaiah that the Messiah should be called God almighty). In John 8:58,59 we read an interesting declaration of Jesus about Himself:

"'I tell you the truth,' Jesus answered, 'before Abraham was born, I am!' At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds."

The word that Jesus used here as "I am" are not the ordinary words. When Jesus said "I Am", He actually said a Name:

<< Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?" God said to Moses, "I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.' " >> Exodus 3:13,14

Jesus used the same words He used when talking to Moses. It was Jesus who was talking to Moses that day, and He repeats His Name before the Jews: "I AM". He was revealing Himself as God. We know the Jews got the message, becuase immediately after Jesus said this they picked up stones to stone Him, because He claimed to be God!

Was Jesus insane? I mean, anyone who claims to come from Heaven, either that person is insane or he/she is telling the truth. The wisdom of His Words and parables testify that He was not insane. He's been the wisest person ever, and the most quoted person in the whole world! Was He a liar? You know, if Jesus was a liar, He could have lied very easily and thus save His life. But we know He was not a liar, "because He had a lot of opportunities to lie and save His life, and He didn't". He always said the truth even though it would mean to put His life at risk!

The Bible talks about Christ! The Old Testament as well as the New Testament testify about Christ: "And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself." (Luke 24:27).

These are just a couple examples out of many more about Jesus claiming His divinity. Please, read the book of John.

GOD SAID JESUS IS HIS SON

Matt.3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Matt.16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

At daybreak the council of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and teachers of the law, met together, and Jesus was led before them. 67"If you are the Christ,"they said, "tell us."
Jesus answered, "If I tell you, you will not believe me, 68and if I asked you, you would not answer. 69But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God."
70They all asked, "Are you then the Son of God?"
He replied, "You are right in saying I am."
71Then they said, "Why do we need any more testimony? We have heard it from his own lips."
Luke 22:66-71

15"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
16Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
17Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
Matthew 16:15-17

(I got my quotes from biblegateway.com, Preshus is quoting from the New World Translation and everyone knows that was purposely mistranslated by the Jehovah's Witnesses to make it seem like Jesus never claimed he was the Son of God)

Compare the events in Jesus' life to prophecy that was written hundreds of years before his birth. He fulfilled ALL of the prophesies regarding his life, death and resurrection. The possibility of him fulfilling all of those prophesies without being the Son of God is astronomical.

I don't remember exactly WHERE He said it but HE did ( I am ignorant as to the address in the scripture, still flippin pages here)
BUT GOD said "This is MY BELOVED SON IN WHOM I AM WELL pleased" Mathew 3:17
I know SOME atheist wont accept this as PROOF but Christianity takes FAITH and FAITH is a powerful thing.

Most believers call Him Father God. That makes us all children of God. Jesus never said that he was any different.

Ancient prophecies have nailed him down to his birth, his mission in life, his miracles, his death, and to his resurrection.

But what it comes down to is that you will need to search it for yourself. He said it plainly, if we do what he says and follow his teachings, we will know for ourselves if it is from himself (a man), or from the Father who had sent him.

You can ask, in faith, with the expectation of receiving your own answer.
