Global warming is a lie. The earth, as a whole, is not getting significantly hotter; the average temperature is something like 73.1 F (~23 C). In ten thousand years when humans have destroyed themselves, the earth will not have noticed a *DAMN* thing.

Global Warming, an increase in the earth's temperature due to the use of fossil fuels and other industrial processes leading to a buildup of "greenhouse gases" (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons) in the atmosphere. Since 1896 it has been known that these gases help stop the earth's infrared radiation from escaping into space and thus function to maintain the earth's relatively warm temperature. (This is called the greenhouse effect.) The question is whether the measurably increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere over the last century will lead to elevated global temperatures, which could result in coastal flooding and major climatic changes and have serious implications for agricultural productivity.

Since 1850 there has been a mean rise in global temperature of approximately 1 Celsius degree (approximately 1.8 Fahrenheit degrees). It was thought that this rise could just be part of a natural fluctuation; such fluctuations have been recorded for tens of thousands of years and operate in short-term as well as long-term cycles. Because of the difficulty of distinguishing human-made causes of carbon dioxide emissions from natural sources, governmental legislation regarding control of these emissions has been slow in coming. However, 1995 was the warmest year on record, according to the British Meteorological Office. A United Nations panel of scientists attributed the warming to human influence and predicted that if greenhouse-gas emissions are not reduced, the average global temperature will rise by 1.0 to 3.5 Celsius degrees (1.8 to 6.3 Fahrenheit degrees), with a best estimate of 2.0 Celsius degrees (3.5 Fahrenheit degrees), by 2100, causing sea level to rise by 50 cm (20 in); further warming and sea-level rise would follow. The potential consequences of global warming are so great that many of the world's top scientists have urged immediate action and have called for international cooperation on the problem.

Did the Planet Betray Us? Or Did We Betray the Planet?Would your children be able to play outside everyday without seeing a tree burn down or the ocean rise? Global Warming is caused by carbon dioxide trapped in the atmosphere and as the sun heats it up it causes the climate to severely change. Although some of the carbon dioxide is needed in our atmosphere, we have released too much. There are hundreds of causes that affect our Earth in different ways of their own. One of those critical and main causes is temperature rising. Temperature increases are taking place all over the world and they lead to different disasters. The ten hottest years ever measured were all occurred in the last fourteen years and 2005 was the hottest! Remember?- August of 2005- Hurricane Katrina was the biggest crisis in the history of our county! Carbon dioxide trapped in the atmosphere is called greenhouse effect. If the greenhouse effect gets worse, the earth is going to face temperatures of over 100F, which will eventually cause animals and plants to die off or even be extinct! It will also cause the Arctic, which is now facing faster melting, to “go.“ If the Arctic were to “go” sea level around the world would rise. Many, MANY states and countries will be covered in water. You think that’s all? NO WAY! Cars, factories, planes- almost everything that burns gasoline/fossil fuel is a part of global warming. Literally, we are the cause of global warming because we do all the burning. Even people are affected by global warming. “Air pollution worsens medical conditions like asthma, allergies, and heart disease.” says a specialist. I know what you’re thinking.
“This guy is crazy!”
“How in the world can we change ALL the world just in time before it actually happens?” Well, even just a little help from you can count up to a lot of help to our earth. Remember, that we are all working together. You could even help the earth while sitting in your house: Try reducing your impact at home, don’t buy or use fossil fuel/gasoline powered products, and save electricity and heat. I mean think about it. By using energy more efficiently at home, you can reduce your emissions and lower bills of more than 30%. That way you would be doing two things at once: Helping the earth and yourself! Know that the future will be better, TAKE ACTION NOW!As I introduced some of the causes of global warming in the introduction- Well heads up! There’s more, a lot more. The main cause of global warming is carbon dioxide, and then, like a tree branch are the “sub causes.” The “sub causes” are everything that release carbon dioxide as followed: Power plants, emitted from cars, from trucks, air planes, buildings/factories, methane, nitrous oxide, deforestation, city gridlock, and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and oceans. After carbon emissions cause by humans, deforestation is the second principle cause of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Deforestation is responsible for 25% of all carbon emissions entering the atmosphere, by burning and cutting of about 34 million acres of trees each year! We are loosing millions of acres of rainforests each year, equivalent in the area to the size of Italy! Methane is the second most causable greenhouse gas. Methane is more than 20 times as effective as carbon dioxide at trapping heat in the atmosphere, according to IPCC. Levels of atmospheric methane have risen up to 145% in the last century. Even with that one person driving their car for 10 minutes, it all counts toward a great percentage of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.
“Ah, rubbish!”
“It don’t think it even affects earth that much, blah, blah, blah!”Identical to the causes there are many, MANY effects too. One of the vital effects of that flu that earth has, a.k.a.- global warming, is rising sea levels. Only a few pieces of land that are very important: Polar Ice Caps, Arctic, Poles, etc. - Can effect the entire world if they melt. In a matter of 5 minutes the world will fill with water by uncountable feet! According to scientific studies, an increase of release of polluting gases, could raise Arctic temperatures by 5-8 degrees within a century. Now, lets go to the “tree’s branches.” Some other effects of global warming include: Polar Ice dissolving; ICCT reports that the earth is becoming more sensitive to pollution, melting glaciers; Another study reports and increase of earthquakes caused by melting glaciers, frogs are dying; Scientists believe that a fungus is responsible for a steep decline in the populations of frogs/amphibians, crocodiles can’t reproduce; More females are being born due to really cool or hot temperatures and they can’t find mates, and coral reefs are at risk; 20% of coral reefs already have been destroyed because sunlight hits them and the algae that corals depend on for food and color die out. Here are some explained effects in current life:F #1- Cape Hattera’s lighthouse was 1,500 feet from the North Carolina shoreline when it was built in 1870. By the late 1980’s the same ocean had crept up 160 feet! The lighthouse had to be moved or it would collapse. F #2- Florida farmland up to 1,000 feet inland from Biscayne Bay is being infiltrated by salt water, rendering the land too toxic for crops.
Not only the Earth itself is being destroyed, but our environment that we built and rely on is also perishing in the process. This effect is dangerously alert. It would possibly wipe out the great part of earth’s population. It’s when millions of species of land- plants and animals are becoming extinct. According to a recent study, the warming of the earth could destroy as much as 37% of world’s living species by the year 2050! Here’s and Example: Australia would loose over half of its 400 butterfly species.
“We’re already seeing biological communities respond very rapidly to climate warming.” The study has confirmed that 15%-37% of the species that were studied could be extinct or nearly extinct by the next 44 years, knowing that there are about 14 million plant and animal species on earth. Each animal or plant isn’t just making itself home there because they thought the view is beautiful! It’s their habitat, just like you’re habitat is yours. It’s where they are born to naturally be in which location that will provide them with the food they need to survive. If we don’t have plants, the air WILL be more polluted because plants inhale carbon dioxide and exhale clean, breathable oxygen. Protect animals, protect plants! Most of all protect our population!Don’t wait until it all happens! Get up and take action now! Just be patient with the earth and help out. Join the thousands of other people trying their best. Before you know it, you’ll see the happy outcome before you’re eyes. At home: Try reducing electricity impact.~ If you can- Install a programmable thermostat, during new purchases choose energy efficient appliances, use less hot water, use clothes lines instead of a dryer, when not in use turn electricity off, when not in use unplug electronics from the outlet, switch to green power of available in you’re area, reduce miles you drive by walking, biking, or carpooling, choose a more fuel efficient vehicle, take air planes less, and try car sharing. You can also recycle paper, recycle bottles, buy recycled paper, use both sides of a paper, plant trees for more fresh air, buy fresh foods, and eat less meat because some animals actually inhale methane. WE HAVE TO ACT TOGETHER TO SOLVE THIS GLOBAL CRISIS!. OUR ABILITY TO LIVE IS WHAT IS AT STAKE!
