Nope..they are not a modern day phenomena...They have indeed been here for the entire recorded human existence..if not longer..check out this link..click on the A.D. and the B.C. links on the left. http://www.ufoartwork.com/
You will see that they are not new to us in any way..Start looking into detailed history too..A couple sightings from 300 B.C...
The Greek leader, Alexander was chronicled having seen UFOs during his invasion of Asia.
He was crossing a river in 329 B.C.
He and his men witnessed what they called "gleaming silver shields in the sky"
The objects repeatedly swooped down on the column of soldiers and caused the men and horses to scatter and run.
7 years later while attacking the Phoenician city..Attire(?).. in the eastern Mediterranean.. Alexander encounters more UFOs.
Quoted by observers from both sides of the conflict. "One of the disc objects shoots a beam of light at one of the city walls, causing it to crumble. Allowing Alexander and his troops access, and they easily defeat and take the city.
I see crafts very frequently...silver discs..elongated diamonds..orb spheres..so on...I can say..it is very unbelievable to witness these objects that have instant speed...you will never forget.
There are millions and millions of sightings..perhaps as far as hundreds of millions of sightings..through out the entire recorded human existence..perhaps..people should open their eyes..instead of whining that they want proof..no one here deserves proof..earn it..It will show itself to you.

"More sense?" That's really a stretch.
For you to accept that, you'd have to say that the records are accurate - that these "miracles" really happened, and that some "unexplained" technologically advanced race was playing God.
Now, forget for the moment that we have no plausible explanation for Faster Than Light Travel, and no evidence of intelligent civilizations operating anywhere within range of earth (at least, not at any known radio frequency), you have to ask yourself "why" you want to introduce "aliens" into stories where "deity" works just as well?
Are you that scared of the theists being right?

It would make some sense, but if you accept that there are good aliens, then you must accept that there are bad ones too.
By the way, (and this is directed at no one in particular), but people who absolutely believe in aliens are just as close-minded as people who don't believe in aliens. The universe is bigger than we will probably ever know. I am open to either possibility.

UFOs have been seen for centuries, there are even references to them in ancient Egypt.
Personally though, I think that would just raise a whole bunch more questions than answers.

That would make slightly more sense, but it's still far less likely than the possibility that the miracles either didn't happen or were simple tricks.

Anything is possible. We must keep an open mind. Maybe the Ascension was really Scotty beaming Him back up.

Nope, are you kidding me? I don't think the other beings out there would be dumb enough to come to this world and get infected with sin.
