f-150 will take any engine ford has. the biggest is the big block 460.
you'll need to put bigger springs in the front as well to hold the bigger engine
if you have a 300 or a 302, an easier thing to do for more power is just find someone selling a 351windsor with a few mods. those 351's can make a lot of power and you don't have to worry about making room for it or stiffening the front end to handle any extra weight.

the 460 is the way to go if you want big cube torque.
they are, however, quite heavy. Heavier than the older
series (FE) by far. they are also longer, wider, and taller but will fit no problem. Springs will be a must. Coil Spring Specialties
in KS can help you for a reasonable price. They are in
either Marysville or St Marys, forgot which. Call Chamber
of Commerce. The 351W is a good pick too. Good luck.

All the posters talking about the big block 460 or better.
You will have to change the front springs for the added weight. Especially if it has an inline 6 cylinder in it now.

The 35W develop right into a production unit determination. yet opposite to what Pedro stated, the blocks are not any further same. The 351W has a larger deck top which develop into used to abode the longer stroke of the 351W. The 302 block is shorter.

depends on what you mean by big a 460 or 429 fits nicely but if but for pulling or hauling a 351 would work just as nice but just remember if it came with a small block and you want to go big you need to change the frame mounts or vice versa

What are your conditions? With enough time and money, ANYTHING can be done. You can put a jet engine in it if you want to. You shoulve said the "biggest engine I can fit in an F150 with no or minimal body and frame modifications".

Depends on your budget and skill level with working on vehicles. With an F-150, you can pretty much do anything from a big block to a diesel.
