I would like to know where I can buy a pregnancy test for my dog?

You have to take him to the vet. There is no at-home test for dogs.

There is no at home pregnancy tests for dogs yet, but if your dog is about 3-4 weeks along you can take her to the vet and have them feel her abdomen for fetuses (but don't try this on your own as it can cause fetal death and damage to the mother) and you can also have an ultrasound done after 2 weeks to see if there are any puppies. If she is farther along than that (over 45 days) she can be x-rayed, which I prefer because it can give you a fairly accurate count of the puppies (although the last litter I had showed 3 on the x-ray and there were actually 4 puppies in there). Some veterinary clinics also offer a blood test, but all I know about it is that it is expensive at my vet clinic. Good Luck!

It is called a veterinary clinic. There are 4 ways a veterinarian can diagnose pregnancy: 1. Palpation of the abdomen - in SOME dogs (not all) a veterinarian can diagnose pregnancy between 25-35 days of gestation. A lot depends on the dog and how tense her abdomen is, and whether she is lean or overweight. 2. Blood test - after day 25 of gestation (not day 25 after breeding - not the same thing) there is a blood test for a particular hormone that can determine pregnancy. 3. Ultrasound - this can be used to determine pregnancy in a dog... not sure when is the most optimum time, but it's generally quite accurate around mid-pregnancy (4-5 weeks). Not accurate for counting how many pups to expect though. 4. X-rays - after day 52 a vet can take x-rays of the female's belly to determine how many pups are in her. This is safe for the puppies because there is usually only 1 or 2 x-rays taken, not dozens.

There isn't any urine based tests for dogs because they have the exact same hormonal cycle whether they conceive or not except for the one hormone that can be tested for in option 2 above, and that's only available as a blood test.

Fact is that there arent any tests like that. A gestation period for a dog is 62-63 days. The vet can do an ex ray to see, but if your dog is pregnant, you'll know about a month into it cuz she'll get really fat.

IF you EVER see her locked into a place with another dog then you can count on her being pregnant.

Honestly, It's not really worth having the exrays or taking her to the vet while she's prego... they can't really do anything for her.

Lots of bashing, not much information. Sheesh. I totally understand why you would want to save the $160 for the rest of her care. Plus, no one needs to spend money unnecessarily! Nipple change - look for a slight grayish (or lavender-ish) tinge to the nipples between her front legs. It's not conclusive if she doesn't have it: Some dogs won't. Palpation - the vet can push around on her abdomen, but that's pretty hit-or-miss also. I wouldn't burn a vet visit just for that. X-rays - please don't until the last 2 or 3 days of her term. Those little bones need to mature before they're bombarded with x-rays. Appetite - her appetite will pick up. You'll need to ~slowly~ (5 days) change her over to a high-quality puppy food, and begin feeding twice a day. I'ad ask the vet for the timing, since you don't want extra weight to complicate whelping. Hope something in here helps...

i dont think their is such a thing but youll know that female dog is pregnant by her nipples it usually turns pinkish color its more noticable...just research it....for the signs...or ask your vet...
