I have always been of the believe that it was the Egyptians who embalmed people. The body is of the earth and God only retrieves the soul.

Catholic here. Do you have the urn in your house? If so, the Church's teaching is you are to bury the urn in a cemetary the same as you would a casket. You are not permitted to keep the urn in your house. Talk to your priest for help in this matter.

why do you feel the need to tell them he's buried. My dad passed away and we decided not to bury him, we feel he should be at home and when my mom passes then we will have them together and decide.
Just say he's been cremated, and is resting at home with the family for now ... its what I say.

Why do you find it necessary to lie? It isn't shameful to cremate a body.

You did the right thing. Be strong, and tell them, IF YOU FEEL IT IS NECESSARY.
