Good mileage for a minivan is 20 mpg or better in mixed driving.
I suggest the Honda as your first choice... The Toyota second.
Ideally, try to find a minivan that has less than 35,000 miles on
it so you have some manufacturer's warranty remaining. If the
prices are too high, then try to find a minivan with no more than
75,000 miles on it. A good minivan can last indefinitely if taken
care of properly. On average, 150,000 miles is about as long as
one will last before major $$$ repairs will be needed. Certified
used vehicle programs will give you a longer warranty and will
perhaps save you money in the long run and a better chance of
getting a better quality vehicle.

A word of caution here.. Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth had a known transmission problem that affected millions of units from the mid 80's all the way to 2001. It affected all cars, vans, etc.. The transmissions would typically fail after 75,000 miles and need a rebuild or replacement (in the $2,000 range). Now if your looking for one of those vans, verify the transmission has been replaced before buying it, and make sure its a genuine OEM unit or something along the lines of Aamco or national rebuilder. Make sure it has a warranty still.
Ford windstar is a good van, however they were plagued with the transmission problem too and to boot some of the transmissions were "1 year only". Meaning that the transmission is going to be a bear and cost alot of money to replace.
Chevy Astro vans with the 4spd Automatic I have heard good things about, a rear wheel drive van can stand up to 150-200k miles before needing rebuild.
So what I am saying is, be wary of the Chryslers and Windstars. On mini vans I would say dont go past 140,000 miles. They just dont hold up as well as cars for some reason, good luck!

How used, and how long you plan to keep them?
I have a couple old Ford Aerostars that lasted well over 100K, on the way to 140K and 150K respectively, not bad considering these are 93's and 94's. However, they're on their 2nd or 3rd transmissions. :)
Ford Windstars have some teething problems in its initial years (98-2000) but subsequent years are fine.
Dodge minivans must watch out for the transmission fluid. Those usually do NOT use Dexron/Mercon fluids, despite what it says on the stick. Read the manual. If it's filled with the right fluid, and well cared for, the transmission will last a long time.

Minivans are heavier and use more gas as a result. But we had a Mercury Villager that got close to thirty and a Ford Windstar that got twenty five pulling a trailer. The bodies are going to rot long before the engines quit, so make sure that the one you buy doesn't have any water leaks. These vehicles seem to be prone to this problem and it doesn't matter what make you buy.

I have driven minivans for years. Look for one 100000 to 120000 miles. They are usually cheaper and MOST minivans will last between 200000 and 300000 miles. Hope this helps. Also I prefer Chevy Astros or Ford Windstars over anything else on the market. They just seem to hold up better for my purposes.

A Saturn Vue or a Ford get away or a Jeep Liberty or a Chevy (darn what's that subject called) or a Mazda Millenia (i think of) it particularly is frustrating to maintain music there are such fairly some little SUV like issues around yet you get the assumption suitable? those are no longer finished sized SUV's are geared in direction of the affordable relatives. Saturn is the superb deal for the money and you will often locate them used for a sensible cost. they are truthfully great autos with much cheap fixes.

Hi, I think an ideal mile age range would be 12000 to 15000 a year. The leasing of an auto is kept with in this range. So I would look for one of these vans. You could check the leasing company's for some good deals and these vans will be well maintained.Good Luck

the best mileage i have seen has come from the dodge mini vans they usually hold the mileage they get for a long time,,and also they are more reliable ,and good for long periods of time without needing major repairs, there mileage will usually be around 18-25 and that's pretty good i think,,and this is overall driving,,there highway mileage can be as good as 28 on some of them,,it really all depends on the van and the driver though and as far as lasting,,they hold up well,,good luck, hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
