Genesis says it was 40 days in one part and 150 days in another. Which is it? Why did God let this error exists in gods Holy Word that we are supposed to believe is 100% accurate and true?

the bible has over a thousand documented errors.

well, at least you found one of them!

notice the buy-bull doesn't say where they all shat for that period of time, where they had enough fresh food and water for that period of time, either.

it would have taken an ark almost the size of the Titanic for just the animals/passengers. three more Titanics for their food and water.

what complete and utter nonsense.

This isn't an error.

The rains lasted 40 days - Genesis 7:17 - And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

The water remained on the earth for 150 days - Genesis 7:24 - And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

All the so-called "contadictions" in the Bible are not contradictions at all. You must look at it as a whole not in parts.
There are no contradictions in the Bible.

no error. read the whole story. while most people stop at the forty days of rain it continues. Until the whole cycle took at least 150 days before the ark came to rest.
it took the forty days of rain just for the ark to start to float. The rain lasted until the tallest mt. was 15 cubits under the water level. This level was maintained for 150 days before starting to subside. It took 7months and 17 days before the ark came to rest and another month before the mountain tops appeared. And another forty days before Noah tried to see if it was safe to leave the ark.Another two weeks before the third try had the second dove come back with a olive branch.Noah waited Seven more days before opening the hatch and finding dry ground.

Genesis 7:12
“And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.” NIV

Genesis 7:24
“And the waters prevailed upon the earth a hundred and fifty days” “
The BIble stated that it rained for 40 days and it stopped raining and the water stayed for another 150 days, it did not rain for the 150 days

Many references in the Bible use 40 as a measurement of time ex. rained forty days, Jews wandering for forty years, etc.... It is simply a way of saying a really long time.

You don't actually believe Noah's flood anyway. How could the water drain? It couldn't!

This is a story as many in the Bible to illustrate what could happen if God gets displeased.

No it does not matter. Some read things and cannot go beyond the literal; while others find hidden meanings for themselves. I am not a scholar regarding spiritual matters as I believe that personal experience has been my main teacher. I have been drawn to hindu culture and there are several stores and epics which seem to be the same as in the bible. The Vedas seem to me to be the basis of all our so called religions. Also Hindu writings I believe predate most spiritual written experience.

Yeah its pretty much been answered, if you had actually read the Bible you would have seen that it says that it rained for 40 days and the water stayed there after raining for 150 days.

owned!

With all the stress of wiping out the whole world god got confused and made a blunder. No actually the story was borrowed from Mesopotamian religion/mythology which was written on stone 1500 years before the Genesis account (see Epic of Gilgamesh).

You'll have to post chapter and verse for me to respond...sorry. I do know it rained for 40 days but the flood lasted longer. It was longer before the water receded. And took even longer for Noah to let the animals come out. Floods don't disappear the moment it stops raining.

Rained for 40 days. The later number (not sure if it was 150) was when they left the ark.
