The M16, the Ak-47, the Sa80, H7K G36, M4, etc?

Why?

M4, most of the war now is urban. The M4 is a lot lighter, and shorter than the M16, plus it has full auto.

I'll take the M4, or maybe the Xm8..

In looks the XM8 makes us look much better then everyone else and the M4 looks like a bad ***. Instilling fear into the enemy!!

But overall the XM8 has been scraped and the M4 sounds like a winner for now.. It's lighter and much smaller for Close Quarter Combat/Battle (CQB) since those battles are much more modern..

Plus I think the M4 can hit harder or maybe it's a bit weaker since the barrel is shorter, but still it's better then holding that heavy M16...

Of what's available, the forced-choice answer is the M-4, since it's been largely de-bugged and it's short and reliable, where the sensible bullpup 80 still seems to produce feeding/jamming complaints. But the thematic problem is the 5.56x45. The 6.8SPC almost gets the solution, but is still limited by the size of the M4 chamber. If chamber dimensions were only slightly roomier, it could handle a 7mm bullet of 120-130 gr weight at the same velocity, perhaps using a necked-down Czech 7.62x45 case for the cartridge everybody's always known but nobody's ever made for military needs.

AK -47 Easy to manufacture reliable high rate of fire and excellent stopping power. The M 16 is nothing more than a glorified 22 I'm unfamiliar with the other weapons so I really can not make any qualified opinion about them

i would say the M-4 out of the few that I got to shoot at the range today was the lightest so thats what I would want to carry around, and it was fun to shoot
