one of my co-workers said to the other about me "she sure showed you up" then she chuckled. They didn't know I could hear them, I happen to hear it when I passed by their office.

Was that a compliment to me or no?

If she was serious, it was a complement.
It means you showed the right way to do something, or a better way, that kind of idea.
If the lady that said it was being sarcastic, it probably wasn't a complement.

Means that you said/did something that made you score a point over your co-worker.
Others have answered that it is a compliment - well, it may be, but it could also mean that your co-worker will try to show YOU up next. So be careful.

It depends on what just occurred and how they perceived it. Maybe you solved a problem, or somehow outwitted the person. In that case it was a compliment. However, sometimes people (often times) don't appreciate wit and intelligence and they were making fun of you. It really depends on what these people are like. It may be a compliment to you but for the purpose of antagonizing the recipient.
