For instance, i was hell bent on a relationship that was against all odds, and believed it would work. The entire family denounced it, and soon, the relatioship had to end. My family prays a lot, and says this was how they wanted things to be. Not only do i feel miserable, but im lonely as well. So whats the message im taking here from God, if at all my family's prayers were answered?

You know when you are following God's will when you have a deep inner peace. This is not the same as peace in your mind or life. But at a deep level of your being, you have peace and a sense of "knowing". Your life may be a mess, you may be depressed and grieving, but deep within you, in your soul, you are at peace. Get in-touch with yourself. To do that you need some time in silence alone with God and then listen to your heart. What is it telling you? Not what you want it to tell you, but listen to the truth. Really listen.
As to your family's prayers. God will only do what is best for you. Maybe He will use the energy of their prayers and maybe not. All will be for your highest and best. If you family ask for something that is against God's will for you, He will tell them no. Also God does not disrupt your life, we do a good job of that ourselves. Ask God to work in this situation and show you what you need to do to have a happy life, and then LISTEN.

This is ridiculous. I mean, they probably want the best for you, but it's not up to them. If things happened this way, they did because it was probably the best for you, but not because they prayed. God only listens to prayers that are for the best, and not for personal judgements of one person or another.
If you don't want to be lonely and miserable (and here I speak from experience), your whole life will have to be dedicated to God. Just make sure you join the True Church and not some weird group. God always helps those who honestly search and pray to find the true path to Him.

it's nonsense.
people were praying to jesus to save the climbers on Mt Hood in Oregon. the climbers were christian, and so were the family members praying for them...
they're dead.
prayers to jesus didn't work. so, go figure. it's nonsense! prayer is silly and unintelligent. don't tell me that jesus decided to end your relationship, yet decided to let these guys die.
if so, that's quite some god you have there. a very petty god in fact. and very lame.
but if you want to stick with this "this is a message from god" nonsense -- well, then, maybe he's telling you that you should be with a cool guy instead of a girl. in that case, send me a message (if you're good lookin)

And what you need isnt always what you want.
And what you want may not always be good for you in the end.
Like a child who wants to eat sweets all the time...
Which is why we have loved ones and other people who can tap into a situation and see the end result.

There are lots of superstitious people who used to believe that killing virgins would make it rain. Some believed that making deals with God to kill the first thing to come from their tent was the right thing to do (God delivered guy, daughter comes from tent to greet dad, dad has to kill virgin daughter for god - how sick is that).
It is possible to train mice to be superstitious and it is possible to train people to be superstitious.
Just remember, what ever happens immediately after you kill your newborn is what God wanted. Do you really believe that?
