I get an email from an obviously deluded individual who decided to tell me about what me and my daughter would suffer at the hands of her "god" if I did not believe her "truth".

From: Laylo Q

Subject: Truth

Message: Is that baby your that your holding. I hope you don't have to go thru it with that innccent baby. I can back all what the Lord has spoken with the word of God ans even show you that your child will suffer as well as your self. Listen. Look at some of my questions and answers, and see how they are answered. Most are answered by the word of God.

WTF? This is why I can't stand xtians. Any thoughts?

If that happens just try to breathe, step back and say..ok. That person is crazy. Christians are nice. And then you can come and tell every normal person what they said and we can laugh at them. I'm sure they aren't crazy, just misguided I suppose. You shouldn't generalize christians in that way, simply because you probably could expand that further to humans as well. I can't stand humans. So refine it maybe. I can't stand christians that try to persuade me by threatening my baby with hell fire. I hope you haven't truly been encountering more of that type.of christian, because if you have....wow. That would probably be why you think that way. In that case, I am sorry. There has been some crazy misrepresenting goin on.

I can see where you'd think that this is cruel. It seems kind of harsh to me and I'm a christian. Warning people of the dangers of unbelief, even if misguided, can be an act of love. I think christians need to be very careful how they approach others about their children. Most mothers would fight to the death to protect their child and so any threat to the safety of their child will not be seen as an act of love but an attack, and would defend their child of any threat real or perseived with with tooth and claw. I know I would. Don't judge all christians with such a broad brush. This person may have been well intentioned but needs to be reminded of dealing with non christians with such a heavy hand. It is God's mercy and love that draws folks to God, not condemnation. I'm sorry they said that to you. I don't agree with their statements and I don't blame you for having a distaste for christians if this is the treatment you've recieved. Be at peace and God bless you.

Alas, another deluded Christian who lives in eternal fear of that mythical hell place and is trying to save as many heathens from its tormenting fires before the rapture (that, by the is NOT in the Bible).

Sad more than annoying actually.

You sound like basically this type of person you accuse "non secular nuts" of being. You bounce to conclusions and stereotype everybody you do unlike. i'm a Christian, i do no longer think of atheists are devil worshipers, I surely don't think that the only "right faith" is Catholic. i've got faith there are "good" people who don't understand Jesus for my area, are no longer saved and could pass to hell, through fact it quite is not being "good" that gets you to heaven. it quite is faith in Jesus, end of tale! no person is pulling your string, why pass off like that on something you of course understand no longer something approximately?

Reminds me of those chain letters that if you don't sent to 10 other people something bad will happen.

Ignore it. Their only weapon is to prey on the weaknesses of others. That is, after all, the only reason why they were made to believe.

Well, I am buddhist, so I will... offer my thoughts.

There are good christians and bad christians.

Good christians are all over. The bad ones bother you and try to force their views on you. The good ones want to live good lives as good examples that will win over others without anything but their good example.

I think the words "religious nut" are appropriate.

This is not a decent way to confess one's faith.
