People who have a kind, caring personality tend to believe that god is a kind and caring God. Those people who are hard and angry tend to believe in an angry and vengeful God.

Because man created God in his own image to give an authorative voice to his beliefs and prejudices.

Because our relationships with other people are a DIRECT REFLECTION of our relationship with God. There are religious people. And then there are people who actually have a relationship with God. Religious people walk around quoting some ''victorious sounding Jesus scripture'' and judging others. They talk about God and know ABOUT God. But they don't know God. Because they don't have an intimate relationship with him.So they become self-righteous(which makes them hard and angry). People that actually HAVE a relationship with God are kind, caring people because their relationship with God is directly reflected in how they treat other people.God loves us all. And wants us to love others the way He loves us. So I would say if we have a loving, kind relationship with God our lives will reflect that. Now, if we have not let God into our heart to heal the hurt areas and love on us, but still go around talking about God and religion and telling people what they should do with their lives, we are making a total jackass of ourselves and representing God in a way that is not pleasing to Him, and alienating the very people He wants us to reach. We are CALLED to let God's love shine through us to other people. But we cannot give what we cannot have. The way to get that is less talk about religion and doctrine, and more quiet time with God. And the most amazing part is, that God, the Creator of the Universe, eagerly wants an intimate, loving, personal, relationship with us all. P.S. - Does anyone know the difference between God and a religious person ? God never mistakes Himself for a religious person.

Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

You cannot give God a good or bad day,
But He can give you either one.

God is in perfect peace and happiness, or He could not offer it to you.
God being angry, is not literal, it means that because you are outside the justice of God, you will be disciplined.

"He knows the endings from the beginnings."

If you know everything that is ever going to happen, then you know how eternity will turn out. How could you ever have anger?

I've not noticed that in people. Perhaps their perception is based on their own mood. By that I mean, God can and will be angry. "Vengeance is mine says the Lord" But in due time. That is when He does His final judgment. He is very angry and will get vengeance against those who mislead others concerning Him. Those who cause other to do wrong. Those who teach contrary to His Word.

anthropomorphism - basically, man creating God in HIS image.

The more that God is like you, the more you are like God. Even the most benevolent image of God of the Bible is in the image of man.

Consider Reverend Fred Phelpsof godhates fags.com. Did a mean and spiteful God create this man or did this mean and spiteful man create this God?

I believe it is the reverse. If you believe in no God, then the world is a cold and empty place, a fearful place....and your on your own. Survivlal of the fittest.

If you believe in a God and know that He is good, if you know He is just, your behavior reflects that.
