My bestfriend had a crush on my teacher. And I guess our teacher seems to like her also. We're all senior student. My bestfriend is 18 years old and our teacher is 23 years old. Do you think its appropriate that they start dating after she graduate? Is this werid?

This doesn't sound weird to me at all, he is a young teacher of only 23 years and she is grown at 18 years old. There is only a 5 year difference and you said that they want to date after she graduates, which makes this sound like a very mature and responsible decision. It would be inappropriate if they were dating while she was still in school, because it may not be fair to the other students and others would have much to say about it. And it would only be weird if he was like a 55 year old teacher or something, or if her teacher were her uncle. Now, that's weird. But this situation as you explained it is not weird at all.

It's not weird and it's not uncommon. They both are considered adults. One is a teacher and one is a student. I don't know what the law says about dating 18 year olds, but the age is legal.

That is why they are waiting until she graduates so that there won't be the teacher and student relationship, it will then be strickly all adult.

Maybe after she gradutes, that would be okay. If the teacher has had the sense to wait, good. In my country, a 23 yr old teacher (f) has just lost her job for having sex with an 18 yr old pupil. Rightly so too...but if they had waited until after he graduated, only a few months wait...that would have been different.

It's a little weird, however, she's 18 and he's 23. They are both adults so it would be fine as long as they wait until she graduates. It might still be a little weird, but like I said they are both adults. No hankie panky until after she graduates.

Well obviously it's not appropriate now, cuz she's his student, but there's nothing wrong with it after she's no longer a student. What can people say?? Nothing. It's no one's business except their own...and the age gap isn't that big... I don't see anything wrong with it.

Well, it's not that big of an age difference, just kind of weird seeing as how it's your friend's teacher and what not.. But hey, let them do their own thing, they're old enough to not go to jail for it at least.

I think that it may be a little wierd, it may also appear wierd to the school as well. He is a teacher and shouldn't be lookin at his students that way, that will be what people say.. It is just a wierd situation..

My 36 year old drama teacher married a senior last year.

Do you call that weird?

2006-12-18 16:25:36 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Nope. Nothing weird about it. They're both consenting adults. Plus, she'll be out of school by the time they start dating, so... no big deal.

it might seem weird but i see nothing wrong with it as long as its after she graduates because if it is before it could cause a huge conflict, but seeing as she is at the age of legal consent there is nothing wrong with it. hope i helped :)
