I have to do an interview with a parent but I don't know what kind of questions I can ask about student assesment and evaluations from a parents point of view

you are a teacher and want to ask questions to the parents in PTA meeting? I have a grade 2 and would love to help out and answer... but I am not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are meaning what to ask parents whose kid you teach.
My grade 2 had the best pta meeting in the world, the teacher way way beyondd what was expected and the kids were involed and loved it. I don't want to type it all becasue I am not sure you are asking about pta meetings.. but if you are email me and I will tell you what my daughter's teacher did. i was very impressed

Put yourself in the parents' shoes. What information would you like to know about your child at school? Most questions would revolve around literacy, numeracy, behaviour and benchmarks (is my child at the expected level?). It really depends on what information you need and the context. Can you discuss this with a colleague, a senior teacher or your principal? When discussing assessments and evaluation it is best to use jargon free information so that the parents will understand what you are saying. Take your time to build a relationship with these people as all of you have something precious to nuture - a child.

You can ask them if their child is enjoying and being challenged in grade 2, or if he/she finds it boring. You could ask if the parents have any input as to how to improve the curriculum in that grade or school, also. Ask if they feel the teacher is really helping their child, or is being passive about it. Parents have some ideas, even by the 2nd grade, if their child is being thoroughly challenged, or if they find it boring and/or dull. Good Luck!

ask if their kids are getting enough sleep at home and eating breakfast....kids do better in school with a full belly and a restful nite
ask if ther child has a quite place to concentrate on homework....ask if they are doing any reading at home

say hey whats your child do for fun? Is he/she hyper, any pets? favorite tv show? fav. food? those things.
