If someone is leaving on a plane and when they arrive someone else has taken their luggage , is the airport responsible???random question

It depends, but yes, they are to a certain extent. First they wait to see if your bag gets turned in. If not they will replace it with a value of 1200.00 You just have to go out and pick it out and then they will reimburse you for the reciepts.

When you check in luggage, you are given a print out with the tag number for each piece of luggage you check in. Depending on where you are flying into, you would have airport security matching the tag number on the luggage and the passenger's printout. If you happen to be missing your luggage, you have to report it immediately to the airline (baggage claim office) and file a missing report. They will do their best to locate it and it fails, they are required to reimburse you for your loss.

Unlikely for that to happen as the other epople would want there stuff back.

I dont see why the airport is responsible as they cant control who takes who's stuff unless they (the person) gets caught!
