If there were no real, there would be no point in faking it right? How can people discern true prophets from the false? True Holy Ghost Christians from fake?
I believe in the real and firmly believe the Pharisees were either in danger of or blasphemed the Holy Ghost when they claimed Jesus worked miracles through the spirit of satan instead of through the Holy Spirit so let's make that clear before anyone answers foolishly that there is absolutely no forgiveness for doing this sort of thing.

The Pharisees denied Jesus was Immanuel "God with us" in the flesh, that He was Deity and absolutely hated it and killed Him for being envious of the crowds and children who cried "Hosanna to the son of David". Denying the Trinity is exactly part of what they did. An anti-Christ spirit denies Jesus came in the flesh. That's an example in my opinion of how satan imitates God's spirit with a substitute and I'm sure all my Oneness Christian friends will fall out with me here.

llaidee (sp?) That's an interesting angle and upon first inspection I agree that is the nature of satan and his history. Why is any reference to the Holy Ghost missing though?

chaosjones; are you saying that those men are false prophets? Do you believe any minister can be a modern day Levitical priest worthy to recieve a tithe? Do you think believers are kings and priests? If so, how? Or do you say those men aren't either and neither are available to believers. Expound and clarify please.

The Bible said you will know them by their fruit. If you watch close enough the truth will surface.
(Mat 7:18) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
(Mat 7:19) Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
(Mat 7:20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Yes there is forgiveness. I forgive them. What's the big deal? I don't wish them harm for that blasphemy. Just tell them stop being rude and get some manners.
Regarding Satan, he doesn't imitate God, never has, never will. Do a Bible search. Has Satan ever committed a felony? Then look at the stuff God has done. He let a guy sacrifice his daughter after God delivered the guy and his group from some warring group. God should have known in advance that daughter would be the first thing out of the tent and God should have said, "The deal is that the sacrifice can't be human." But NOOOOOO, God had to have a virgin burned. How sick is that. And what about the genocide. Tens of thousands killed. That is so sick. Satan never did that. The Bible is just goofy. Who's the bad guy? The one who breaks the most serious laws. Look at the record. It just doesn't make any sense.

well then I guess Joel Olsteen, Benny Hinn and Pat Roberts are in real trouble and so Is the pope after all where do they get their power and authority what makes them holy men and what gives them the right to speak for God they don't have the preisthood or the gift of the holy ghost how do they know that they aren't being lead a stray by the Devil. James 1:If any of you lack wisdom let ask of God - Resist temptation - ye doers of the world - how to recognize pure relgion. I hope this answers your question

The Holy Ghost is God. God is a trinity - God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Satan is an angel, created by GOD, to protect God's holiness. He was the most high of angels and then decided to rebel and be God. He was cast out of heaven.
Satan IS NOT equal to GOD.
Does he imitate God? He chooses to usurp God's authority and create his own authority as if he was God.
True prophets, based on the Bible's teaching will say that Christ is God and that there is only one way to attain heaven, through faith in Christ's attonement on the cross.

A true spirit of God will testify that Jesus christ is God and he came to the earth in the flesh. Satan not only posses asAngel of light but helps set up the unholy Trinity, the Devil, Beast, and False Prophet.

I don't know about imitating the Holy Ghost, but the Bible definitely says that Satan is going to imitate Christ.

It is well know in the monastic traditions, especially the teaching of the desert fathers that the "angel of darkness often comes disguised as the angel of light". Discernment of spirits is an important teaching of the Church.
