Get some good used tires that fit your
Miata. Worn tires slide the best.

A harder tire will drift better than a softer tire. You will pay for this in the ride. Also the amount of air pressure and how your braking and accelerating into your turns will lead to drift.

It's how you drive it and what year your Miata is. The suspensions were different in the earlier ones.

When you switch tires for drifting, you will loose traction in wet and icy roads also. With improper tires the Miata can end up off the road very easily. If your using them for autocross I would also suggest changing the rims for weight also.

It's not so much the tires as it's the technique. If you drive it that hard, you're going to eat up any tire.
