whats the prognosis of liver cancer just wondering my mom had lung cancer and now theres a spot on her liver

The prognosis for lung cancer depends very much on how early the condition is discovered. If it is treated in its earliest stages, about half of all patients survive at least five years after initial diagnosis. The problem is that only 15 percent of lung cancers are found in an early stage. Overall, the five-year survival rate for all forms of lung cancer is 14 percent.

All cancers caught in early stages are have a good prognosis. If the primary cancer is in her liver, chances are it had spread to her lung as secondarys. No good news here,but, early detection and treatment increase her chances for a better prognosis.

I am so sorry to hear that but we have to be realistic this is a very serious problem and sometimes things that we don't want could happen..

This is a question you should be discussing with your mother with her doctor. I'd hate to have someone who doesnt know what they are talking about, but sound like they know what they are talking about give you a wrong answer. I know I'd want the correct info if it involved my mother. As I am sure you do with yours.
