My partner of 3 years has been lieing to me and breaking important promises, it may sound pathetic but i dont trust him anymore and it hurts because i love him greatly. any advice on how to rebuild trust or get over it would be greatly appreciated!!

At the risk of sounding like Ask Annie, try couple's counseling. It may help you regain trust in him. Make sure he knows what a jerk he is, because he has been breaking promises and lying, therefore he is a jerk. Tell him that you have lost trust in him, and that he will have to earn your trust back if he wants the relationship to continue.
If he loves you, he would probably do that for you. If he's worth your time, he will.
People that you love and that love you shouldn't treat you like that, and at the very least should not continue to treat you like that after you've asked them to stop.

It could mean he is fooling around with someone else, or considering this, and that is not good nomatter what,,
If you do not trust him anymore, then trust your inner voice.It is terribe, depressing, and not good for your self confidence to find out that the person you love, isn't loving you back,, or at least enough to make you feel secure,
I realize everything ii have said is not a solution, it is just repeating what you already know,,

HAVE THE CONFRONTATION, AND BE READY TO PROVE TO HIM, THAT WHAT YOU KNOW IS NOT YOUR IMAGINATION, AND FURTHERMORE, IF HE IS LOOKING AROUND, MESSING AROUND, OR DABLING,, IN SOMETHING OUTSIDE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP,, THAT NO PROBLEM, JUST GO FOR IT, AND LEAVE YOU TO BE FREE TO FIND ANOTHER MAN TO SHARE YOUR LIFE WITH,,
THE ONE THAT LOVES THE LEAST, IS THE ONE THAT CONTROLS THE RELATIONSHIP,
REPEAT THAT TEN TIMES AND THINK ABOUT IT,
IF THE QUALITIES THAT YOUR PARTNER HAS DO NOT MEET YOUR NEEDS, THEN TELL HIM, BE CONFIDENT, ASSURED, AND LET HIM KNOW THAT YOU "WILL LIVE" without him AND JUST MAYBE SINCE HE CAN NOT OR WILL NOT "MEASURE UP" and be the man and person you fell in love with, then to just get out, of your life, so you can get the kind of love that you are willing to give,

Your only human, trying to rebuild trust or just forgetting about something is kinda hard, I know how it feels to lose trust in someone and try and keep going on like it never happen.
if he does not prove himself then it will just make things harder for you, talk to him about it.

if you ever want to have trust, & a good relationship then you are talking to wrong ppl, honey, you have to sit down & have this discussion with him. I know that it may hurt to hear some things, but the thing is we don't know every detail, & he does. Just ask him.

well if he has been lieing to you for 3 years then just dump him. I'm sorry but to me 3 years is still kind of long. like they say there are many fish in the sea
