Because its a stereotype that they thought would make you not want to be with him.

Because we, Latins, Hispanics, have this famous thing of the Latin "Macho" Isn't exactly that is that we are kind more open to express our selves and in the same way we like to express our love we do also express our jealousy, and may be taken as we are controlling, but not the truth. We have changed a lot during the years, about 40, 50 or so Latin men were way up more controlling than now a days ones. So enjoy.

controlling guys don't fall under the category of nationality. It's within the personality. It doesn't matter what race or nationality he is or what culture. Part of controlling may be the up bringing, or people just tend to develop it themselves.

I know several friends who are married to spanish men. They all say the men are controlling. I guess any man can be that way though, regardless of where he is from. I hate that quality in a man.

What man isn't controlling? Or at least, wants to be controlling? They all do it, even if in different ways. It's a 'man thing.'

It's just a stereotype, hon. Like that Latinos are passionate and jealous and controlling....etc. It's not true for all, as you may know.

I have heard of many being this way. It can be derived from
his background culture. If it doesn't work for you, you really
should have figured this out before you married this person.
