My moms butttercream recipe is something all of us kids (we are 28,32, and 34) still fight over to scrape the extra frosting from the bowl.

Take 2 C powdered sugar
1 stick of real butter (softened to room temp)
a splash of milk (about 1t or a little less)
1 t vanilla flavoring
1 t almond flavoring (optional)

Cream all of the ingredients together and you have a really good frosting. We use it for our cut out Christmas cookies each year. You can dye it with food coloring to change colors. If it appears to be too watery just add a tiny bit of powdered sugar and this should take care of the problem. I hope you try and like the recipe. Good Luck and Happy Holidays!
