I'm going to his parents' place for christmas. They live in CT, and my flight arrives at LGA in NYC. It's about 40 mins away. But he totaled his car last week so he said he'll get me a shuttle. But his family all live on the same street and they have at least 6 cars. Couldn't he just borrow a car from them to pick me up? Even if it's rush hour, it will be 4 hours, tops. But instead, he asked me to get a shuttle. He's not even gonna show up at the airport. This is my first time to LGA airport and I'm scared but he doesn't think it's a big deal. Girls, would your bf do this to you? or if you are a guy, would you do this to your gf?

I would not do it to my wife. I would go pick her up even if I had to rent a car.

If you are old enough to go to NYC to meet the parents, you are old enough to take a shuttle. Why should he travel so far both ways when you can go just one way. At least he didn't tell you to take a cab. The shuttle will be right there waiting for you. In one line you say he'll get you a shuttle and in another you said he asked you to get a shuttle. Which is it? Don't make a big deal about this or you will spoil everyone's Christmas.

Tell your boyfriend how you feel. Does he know you're scared to be in LGA alone? (Which is completely understandable). I would suggest you ask your boyfriend if it would really be that much trouble for him to come meet you at the airport.

And to answer your question, yes. I would expect my guy to do the same. I would also do the same for him. It's just downright respectful.

i think people act differently when they are with their family at christmas time. They probaly have everything planned to the minute and want him there all day.
If it was me, i would pick up my gf, because i wouldn't want her feeling uncomfortable or afraid. If you haven't talked to him about this, maybe you should ask him to pick you up because it's a large busy airport and you'd like to be with him for the ride to his family's place.
Also, maybe he's afraid of the airport and traffic too, escpecially during this busy time and might be hard to find parking.
Just some ideas.

lol my husband would know better. explain to him your scared. Maybe he doesn't feel comfortable borrowing cars from his family, I certainly wouldn't be. It will be okay regardless of if you have to have a new life experience and take a shuttle. Maybe its cheaper for you to take a shuttle then it would be for him to put gas in a car and drive out to get you.

It depends on what he's doing. If he's busy and it's really an inconvenience then it's not mean, but if he just doesn't feel like taking you to the airport, he might not care that much about you and you need to reconsider! I do think my boyfriend would take me because we do those things for each other...because we love each other. Reconsider this guy...

If he's paying for a shuttle for you I wouldn't complain. At least he is covering that expense. Now if he said get here the best way you can that would be another story. I wouldn't be mad at him at all in this instance. :)

No, he would never have done that. He would have had someone else drive him over to greet me or rent a car. He would want me to feel safe and comfortable.
That is why he is my husband now ;)
