It's a great sport:

--total body exercise
--needs both cardiovascular fitness and strength
--lifetime sport--young teens to 80+ years of age
--sprint and/or endurance (races are 1000 meters to 100 miles in length--not counting ocean racing!)
--You can do flat-water rowing or open-water rowing (different shells)
--You can row solo or with a team
--You can row for competition or recreation
--Even though high-level competitive rowers tend to be tall, with long arms, in club rowing, there's a place for everyone.
