I'm only in my mid 20's and I am dying. I was born with a rare illness, and I was lucky to find and make friends online with the same illness. But now I have watched them die one by one. Now it is my turn. and now that death is knocking at my door, I'm not sure how to cope.
I believe in God, but not the Bible or religion. That's a whole other story, but please do not give me answers that have to do with God, or faith, or praying.

Although I would love to just spend all my life savings, travel, do everything I have ever wanted too. I'm in poor health and unable to be overly active. My whole live I have always tried new things and never let my disability hold me back. But life happens, and rather I'm a devoted Christian, or the most positive thinker, or into all natural treatments and healers, sometimes you just have to accept the inevitable, that I'm dying.
At times I do feel at peace, and almost look forward to the afterlife. If death was as easy as pushing a button, I think I could handle that. But it's not happening like that, it's a slow death, loosing weight every week, picc lines and iv's medicine, blood draws, transfusions, extreme fatigue, and on and on. I see myself dying and I feel it. And when I think of all the things I wanted out of life, it becomes overwhelming. I want to be married, I want children, I want to travel the world. But accepting the harsh reality is where I need help coping.

This is a very difficult question to answer, as many of us have never been in such a position. I am sorry to hear about your illness but I hope that I may be able to help you in some small way. Since you say you believe in God, I certainly think that you can find some peace and comfort from this. I also believe in God, but no religion or Bible. You know how your God is and you know that He/She/It is watching over you and knows what circumstances you face. God knows it all and he knows how much you can handle. If you pray, pray to God and ask God to give you peace and help you in this time of great need. Think of the many fun things you have done in life - you haven't let your illness hold you back thus far - there is no reason for it to stop you now, you can still enjoy. Remember God, God knows your breaking point and will NEVER take you beyond it...God only gives us what we can handle. Continue speaking with your close friends online, and your family. Do your best, you will have bad days and good....I cannot even imagine how you feel...I can only hope you will find comfort. Best of luck and keep smiling.

First shake of the notion that you will die. Think positive. Think / Imagine the illness leaving you.
Have you tried other means of healing ? There are miracles happening everyday... why can't it happen to you. You may be the special person. There are pranic healing and Reiki. Please try them. Some ppl have got cured completely. And always associate with positive forces in your life. Can be your parents, friends, teachers, anyone you like or who likes you.
Avoid at all costs all the negative factors, stop being in touch with other ppl with your rare illness. Ask some one else to manage the information for you. You should only hear positive news from that person.
Also, go out and make new friends. Read a good book. Watch comedy. Be Happy. Happiness will reinforce your positive energy and help you physically and mentally.

Accept it as your way to go. Sorry if I sound uncaring or cruel, I don't mean to. It seems the only thing /any/ of us really can do when we're faced with death, considering we don't exactly have much of a choice..
You say you believe in God - and I'm not trying to discuss or push religion at you, but there's always the comfort to take that you'll see a heaven/be reborn into a new life after the pain ends for you here in your current state. It's just a thought; I apologize if it's uncalled for considering your warning.
I am sorry, though. I hope you go peacefully.

In September I lost my mother to cancer. She wasn't really a believer in God nor the bible either. But I can tell you that her last week here, she started seeing people that have gone before her. Most won't believe that she really saw them, but, working in the nursing field I can tell you that she did. I was given a book by the hospital social worker that dealt with just that. It is called Final Gifts. Even my father who died in March of 2000 saw people and animals that had gone before, even people that he didn't know had gone. I am a firm believer that when you die, only your body dies, your soul or spirit lives on. I think that is why there is so much on TV these days about ghosts and hauntings. Though not everyone who dies haunts a place, I still believe that they do come to those they love here to be with them and guide them in the end. There are several books on death and dying such as the one I suggested. Maybe reading these might help comfort you in knowing it isn't the end, only the beginning of a new adventure for you. I hope this will help you.

You dont really die... you just will lose this earthly body that is ill. You will still be you. Still love chocolate, music and whatever else you love and DONT love for that matter. You dont lose who you are.
Much to look forward to. Brigham Young said that if we knew how wonderful the dying experience really was, we would all be committing suicide to get there. You will be reuinted with friends and loved ones who have passed on before you. That is a rockin thing to me!! I cannot wait for that.
I personally dont fear death... It is more natural than birth. We dont come into this earth alone and we certainly don't leave this earth alone either. The sad part is for those you leave behind. You see you will still see them and be around them as you are allowed. They, however, do not get to see you. Unless some special circumstance. You will know EVERYTHING going on. You will be able to help in your spirit way and watch over them.
Your learning and growing in things that are most important in your eternal life will continue on too. ALL things will be made known unto you. How awesome is that??!!
I think, personally, that those who leave this mortal life earlier than others..due to something that cannot be prevented such as a terminal illness as yourself... are very special spirits. You have less lessons to learn in this life maybe than the rest of us who can't seem to get it right and so we have to keep staying here in this world that can be pretty awful at times. I think YOU are the lucky one sweet girl. I would have to think that Heaven needs you more than this cold dark world. Must be you are pretty special.
Embrace each day that you have been given and leave here with NO regrets......

Unfortunetly you need to go through all the emotions. I am soo sorry for you. Get angry, mad, sad, and so on as I am sure you have already but hold your head up and take a huge breath and see the world different. You deserve to enjoy life to the fullest even though it is limited for you. Say and do things that you have only dreamt about. Talk to others about what you are experiencing and write your feelings down so others will understand better. Stranger things have happened so please do not give up. Rid yourself of all your fears and make peace with in. Peace!

I am so sorry to hear that. Before you die get really involved with your religion, spend time in church. Donate money to causes, charities. Become a very good, religious person. I know you said no answers with God, but this could be good, work for homeless shelters, work part-time at the church, etc. Don't just spend time sitting around, you need to do something before you die, this knowldge you are given that your gonna die means your purpose is not done yet, you still have time to do great wonderful things.
IM me sometime if ya wanna a new friend or someone to talk to ^_^- Aim/Yim: xxDisturbedSavio

We are all going to die, it just seems that you know how/when you are going to. I may die tomorrow, who knows. It is definitely a scary thing for both you and your family. But you should not live what time you have left with only thoughts of death and sickness in mind. Live do things that you have always wanted to do. Tell your family you love them. You should live the time you have in happiness and to the most of your ability.

You did say not to mention God and for that I am so sorry, but remember that God did not cause this sickness. The devil did. He knows our whole life through, knows whats best, their may be a reason why he is allowing you to have this sickness. Though it truly is a hard thing to go through. May God give you strength to get through this

I am truly sorry for you. The best I can tell you is take all your love ones and rent a hall and have a party and celebrate your life.Let them know that you love and care for them.So you know that when you do go and meet God they will know you love them. That you tried to live your life the best that you can. Also try to not think of dying try and think of what you have now in front of you and not what is ahead of you. Well take care of yourself hope any of the answers can help you and God bless.
