First call the breeder or where ever you got it from if any other puppies have it. Then the vet, they will want to know what shots she has had along with wormer medicine etc. Keep the stool so they can test it, I know it sound bad but it's for your puppys sake. It could be nothing, but I would not wait. Call first thing in the morning and talk with them.
Good luck with your little one!

He should still be with his mom and his siblings, at 6 weeks old! He's too young, to have been taken away from them. He should have been at least 8 weeks old, before he was adopted out. Blood is always a Red Flag, and a Warning Sign, that something is really wrong, unless it's coming from a female in heat, which is normal! He is whining when he poops, because it's painful! Switching food, would not cause this! I would definitely NOT wait until this weekend to take him to the vet, I would go TODAY if possible. The sooner you can get him to the vet, the faster they can diagnose him and effectively treat him. Hope the little guy feels better soon and that it's nothing serious.! Poor baby! Give him a big hug and a kiss from me ok!

Congrats on your new puppy! There isn't really enough information in your question to answer it properly but I'll try to give you a few pointers.
If we are talking just a few streaks of blood and the stool is normal size and shape (not loose) then it is probably just a minor case of constipation.
If we are talking large amounts of blood in very runny or watery stool, it could be something very serious. It is important to look at the total picture: is she eating and drinking, is she energetic and playful, is there any vomiting?
If she is otherwise normal, I would call the vet in the morning and schedule her first puppy exam. If she is lethargic, not wanting to eat or drink, vomiting or has ANY other odd symptoms at all, get her into an Emergency Clinic tonight or take her into a walk-in clinic first thing in the morning.
Hope this helps and, again, congrats!

Hi there. you said that you only just got the puppy today, so do you know what they have been feeding her? It could be that her diet has been rich with something she should not be eating, such as treats or changing their diet to richer dog food. This is called colitis. I would put her on a diet of chicken and rice. You can also buy this from your vet in tinned form. For your own piece of mind take her to your vet as soon as you can and get her thoroughly vet checked. This will rule out any medical problems she may have and get treatment if needed. Good luck.

I have no idea as my puppy has never had blood in her bowel movements, but you should take her to a vet right away as this is something you don't want to mess around with. You should take her to the vet anyway as soon as you get her to make sure she is healthy and ok in general.

A licensed veterinarian is the only qualified person capable of determining the physical condition of your puppy. The cost of an examination may be an expense you didn't anticipate; but, one you must be willing to pay to have a healthy puppy.
Any written records you have from the previous owner/owners will be valuable to the vet when you take your little baby in for his/her exam.

I would call the person that you got her from and ask them if she has had her shots. Then take her to the vet and tell him what is going on. I hope that she gets along all right. Pekingese are just beautiful dogs.
