Please explain these verses from the bible if you would.

-Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. (John 14:28)

-And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God. (Mark 10:18)

20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." (John 17: 20-25

When Jesus was on the cross, did he not say "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do?" Luke 23:34 Was he talking to himself???
Also And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said this, he gave up the ghost. Luke 23:46 Was He putting Himself into His own hands???
In the Garden of Gethsemane, did he not pray to God, the Father and say " Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me, nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Matthew 26: 39
Was he talking and praying to himself then, TOO???
Jesus was teaching , "And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven." Luke 12: 10
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. Luke 12:13

So the trinity is made up of God, the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, Our Savior and The Holy Ghost. Each are separate Beings , but in one Godhead.

Look up Psalm 45, and Psalm 110. Both indicate THE GOD speaking to
"HIS OTHER".....also......The Trinity is indicated in 1 John 5:7 if you are using
a King James Bible (others have removed or altered same).

In the Old Testament see Isaiah 44:6 --- and His redeemer I am ---.
and Isaiah 45:11 --- And His maker --.

My favourite indicator is 1 Corinthians 15:28 ! At some point The Trinity will once
again unite because THEN there will be no need for The Trinity !

Water appears as a liquid, steam, and ice. All three are one.
A Clover leaf has three segments, it is but ONE clover.

In both situations above, three are one. Why can't THE GOD do the same?

The trinity doctrine isn't true, there is only one God, not three. 1 John 5:7 says For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. No where in the bible does it say God the son. Jesus as the son of God was a human being and had a Father as all human beings do, and as a human being he was the only express image of God. There is no difference between him and his Father as there is between us and our fathers.

When he said "Why callest thou me good?" he was informing a person that didn't know that he was talking to God that there is only one good, and that is God, and since the person didn't know that he was God then he shouldn't call him good.

It was necessary for God to come to earth as a human being to live a perfect life and die for our sins, but his humanity is not God. 1 Corinthians 15:22-24 gives us insight into what Jesus meant when he said "my Father is greater than I."

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

There is but one God the Father, the Creator, God Almighty, Jesus Christ is his Son, the beginning of all creation, notice Jesus is the beginning of creation and had a Creator, Jehovah God, Colossians 1:15, Proverbs 8:22-36. Jesus had an existence in heaven before Jehovah transferred his life into the womb of Mary to be born as a perfect human able to pay the ransom sacrifice for the perfect human life Adam lost making possible our redemption from sin. In heaven Jesus is Michael the Archangel, God's only begotten Son, all angels are called sons of the true God, Job 2:1. The Holy Spirit is the active force of Jehovah God or his power that he uses to accomplish his will. whynotaskdon/ what proof do you offer that the KJV is accurate verses anyone else's?, I can give the same for mine and I'm sure someone else can do the same for their's.

I'll try.

Father - the creator
Spirit - the essence of God The Father
Jesus - the Son of God, part of God, created by God. In human understanding, it would be as if a genetic link.

So, when Jesus says "The Father", he is teaching us, that God is the highest authority. That He - Jesus - was sent in human form to carrier out The Father's plan, then returning to the Father. And He tells us that we can join Him.

Bottom line, we cannot fully grasp the concept with human understanding. It is beyond our comprehension. BUT, it matters not that we totally grasp the concept of The Trinity. What matters is that we know that Jesus was sent, by God, to save our souls; He died - in the flesh - but rose from the dead -in the spirit - and went to The Father, showing us that we, if we believe Him, will also be with The Father after our bodies die.

So, I really don't think we must believe or understand "The Trinity", We MUST believe in Jesus and what He has told us.

Okay, Jesus is PART God, and also human. God in flesh, hence he is not the whole God. Now, can you explain these to me?

I and my Father are one. John 10:30

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...All things were made by him...He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us John 1:1, 3, 10, 14

Jesus saith...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58

CHRIST JESUS...being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

As "nevada nomad" said, Christ was not praying to Himself. He was praying to the Father. Nor was He referring to Himself when he spoke of the Holy Spirit. I agree with her answer 100%!

God is the Father.
Jesus is the Son and our Savior
the Holy Spirit is "God's Messanger" to us individually

These are 3 seperate beings. They are the Trinity. They are ONE in purpose. That purpose is to guide us through this life so we can return to live with our Heavenly Father.

All that this boils down to is that God is perfection and Jesus Christ is God made man. Being that Christ was a man walking the earth, he was not perfect because man is not perfect. He was the product of the immaculate conception/virgin birth and He knew what His objective was. And that was to bear the burden of the sins of the earth. He was the ulitimate sacrificial lamb. God sacrificed his only begotten Son for the sins of man. When it was all done, he was taken up to the Father body and soul.

Pretty heavy stuff, huh?
