English is the most technical language. It is english that is spoken by all commercial pilots in all parts of the world. The USA is the most technical country. Besides the most technical language being a perfect match for the most technical country, people have been speaking english in the USA since the 1600's. Therefore'it would appear that spanish should not be the official language. Comprendes?

We are in the good US of A. English is the official language and
it will always be English although other languages are spoken.
Americans visit and live all over the world and they acclimate themselves to languages, culture, foods, attire.
When they feel like a good cheeseburger and a chocolate eggcream, they go back home and they don't insist the restaurants
change their menu.

Funny! We don't even speak real English. Example: Software comes in a number of different Languages and there is a difference between English and US English. So....we are United States Citizens and our language...not of choice but of culture is US English. Why doesn't Mexico make US English their official Language? It is amazing, we as Americana's fought for rights for our people and others, and everyone wants to come over here and change it to exactly what they left...weird.

Although your question is probably meant to incite some tyrade of comments, the reason that it would not be a good idea should be obvious. International business for one, would suffer, because many persons in other countries have tried to adopt English in order to become a more unified global market. Even in Europe, there have been articles arguing that English should be taught as a second language for this purpose.
If I were looking to the future of international trade, I problably would prefer Chinese over Spanish. However, knowing Spanish in the US certainly makes it easier to get medicaid and have babies for free (There, I'll play your game).

let's just change it to sign language...so we can accomodate the deaf. They have a right to be understood too and that's the only thing they understand is signing so we should make everyone speak in sign language than they don't feel left out either..
learn to speak the Dam- language or go the Hel- back home.

This is probably more than you wanted to know
Theodore Roosevelt 's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the En glish language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
