honey, you worrying and spazing out will do the baby more harm than the caffine and lack of folic acid. Calm down. Just cut out the caffine now that you know and pop some prenatal vitamins and I'm sure your baby will turn out just fine.
And who told you it wan't good to breastfed past 3 months pregnant? They are uninformed!!
Check out the LLL forum. They have a section on pregnant and breastfeeding and also a section on tandum nursing (this would be nursing the 10 month old and new baby both) Many mothers choose to continue breastfeeding throughout pregnancy. It may be reassuring to know that in a normal pregnancy there is no evidence that continuing to breastfeed will deprive your unborn child of necessary nutrients. "Currently, no specific medical guidelines exist that define in which situations it may be risky to continue breastfeeding during pregnancy, and prenatal caregivers vary widely in their recommendations.""Currently, no specific medical guidelines exist that define in which situations it may be risky to continue breastfeeding during pregnancy, and prenatal caregivers vary widely in their recommendations." Women who breastfeed while pregnant often find their milk supply decreases around the fourth or fifth month. If your breastfeeding baby is less than a year old, watch his weight gain to be sure he is getting enough to eat. It's also not uncommon for the flavor of your milk to change. These changes may prompt some older toddlers to nurse less often or to wean entirely.
After the new baby is born, it's not unusual for the weaned child to want to taste the milk or ask to nurse again. Some may not remember how to suckle, others will complain about the taste and there will be some who would be happy to resume a breastfeeding relationship. If you do not want to breastfeed the older sibling, you could offer a taste of your milk in a cup or spoon.
Please don't assume you have to quit nursing your child just because you're pregnant! You don't have to!

Not taking folic acid isn't all that bad (don't tell anyone I said that!) Yes, it is proven to reduce the risk of spina bifida and the like, but women had children for hundreds, thousands of years before anything was known about folic acid. Caffeine is a stimulant, and taken in large quantities can reduce the flow of blood to your uterus, which could make your child develop slower and be smaller at birth.

caffeine may make a hyper baby as an end result, but I dont know if that is proven. Folic acid nutures and develops the undeveloped brain of your fetus, im not saying the absence of it will make you come out with a mentally challenged child. Any help that I could give to my unborn child for there growth I took it.

Caffeine should be eliminated if possible due to an increase in miscarriage and start taking prenatal vitamins asap. Lack of folic acid can lead to spina bifida.

Drinking caffeine will not harm the baby, there is no need to worry. Just start taking folic acid now that you found out.

I drank the hell out of mountain dew while i was pregnant and my son was born healthy and he still is. I did not take folic acid while i was trying to get pregnant. It did not effect my child in no way. He is smart as a tac.
Good luck
