My receiver only has four speaker jacks, no speaker input/jacks for center/surround speaker. It does however, have switches on back of receiver for surround sound function. I have new speakers that include four and 1 center speaker for surround sound. How do I arrange wiring to make surround/all speaker work?

after some intense searching on the web - you might be out of louck - based on what i could find on this model this is early 80's equipment. Surround sound was still something in theatres and little was out there for retail gear. I know that there was equipment with a phanthom centre channel to enhance the listening experience - time for an upgrade

If I remember that receiver correctly, it was around in the "cave man" days of home theater. As I remember it during my college days, you only had four speaker channels to work with. You only had two front speakers and two back speakers. The back ones provided some "echo" effects that was supposed to be surround at the time. Center channels and subwoofers were not even considered at the time.
To make a long story short, home theater has come a LLOOONNNGGGG way since then. As far as getting your system to work, unless someone else reading this has a nifty wiring idea, it's time to update the receiver itself.
