February will be our 2 year anniversary. He is currently in Iraq and I have no idea what to send him. Any ideas? I want to send him something meaningful and not a PS2 game. Although, he'd love that.

This suggestion isn't romantic but it could save his life. I recently viewed a woman who collects "Silly String" to send to soldiers in the middle east. Apparently, they are able to use it to spray an area before entering it. If the string falls to the floor they are safe. If it sort of floats then it more than likely fell on a trip wire that could trigger and explosion. Anything to help him be safer. Send him photos of yourself and words from your heart that he can call to mind whenever he is feeling the strain of being so far away from American soil. They also need tons of batteries down there. Don't send anything to valuable. Save that for when he gets home. He has enough to take care of and worry about with jsut his equipment etc...
Send him a voice recording or a video tape. Music. An IPOD would be ideal. It is small and can hold hundreds of songs. You can send him songs that have lyrics that express the depth of your love and still leave room for his favorite tunes to make him smile.

I would send him a home video telling him how much you love him. Save it to a DVD. There's always someone around with a laptop he can use to view it. Also send him some beef jerkey, you can never have enough of that over there.

You know, some really naughty pictures of yourself -- catering to his fantasies. (Maybe a series of pictures -- in anticipation of more to come). I know this doesn't sound all wholesome -- but being stuck in Iraq -- seeing your girl like that really lets you escape from the harsh world for a little while and will keep him wanting to get home in one piece. Of course, also let you know you love him.

I always think fotos are a really good idea. Have it laminated so it can withstand the conditions there.. an 8x10 enlargement is inexpensive and is more like you are close.... I pray he comes back to you safely....Writing often supportive letters and DVDs and CDs ...also get his friends to send notes and fotos that you can enclose in your letter...

It's true about the Fly Swatters!! LMAO How about a CD with you talking to him? A talking photo frame. Do you sew or anything? Something to hang on his wall locker or foot locker is always nice too.

When my husband was there I sent him a CD the first song was "our song" and the rest were love songs and songs he liked. I then made a cd label with my picture on it. In the picture I was holding a piece of paper that said "i love you". He's back now and still refuses to get rid of it. lol

I made a scrapbook which consisted of events from our life together so far. It is adorable. And I made several videos of me around the house, me baking, me telling him how much I love him. It really does mean more when you make something that takes effort.
