I play on a bowling team and I couldn't make every monday so I got someone else to bowl for me on the alternate weeks. Now I'm told that I have to pay for the weeks that he bowled in my place. Any advice?

Ask the person replacing you to pay. But if that person won't,
then it is your responsibility to pay for it. Since you signed up
to be there every week, you are responsible to pay for it even
if you are not there. That's usually the way it works.

I bowl in a league and when people cannot bowl, they still have to pay their weekly dues. The dues are to cover the cost of the bowling and also to go toward the prize handouts at the end. The league has counted your money toward this. In my league, the sub is only expected to pay a small amount (for the cost of the games). The only suggestion I have is to make arrangements for the person that bowls for you when you can't bowl to pay the full amount if this is acceptable in your league.

They 'should' pay to have bowled., but since you asked them to bowl in your place, seems to me you would have made an agreement as to who would pay.

Since you did not bowl on those specific dates, the only fees you are obligated to pay are for the prize funds. The substitute bowler was only supposed to pay for the lineage and his own USBC membership when they replaced you.

You made the committment to bowl with the expectations that you'd be there every week. Therefore, you are obligated to pay.
