total number of airplanes in the world, what about the airplane network

Ok, all comercial airplanes plus light weights and privetly owned planes. Probobly 2 billion

A hang glider is a plane and there are millions of them. Probobly 100's of millions.

Waste of 5 points mate!

Its a lot but its depends on how you count. If you count in small civilian ac or just comercial/military or if you count the ones that are mothballed and not operational. But a total count would probly be in the tentousends area and thats a lot! Johan

Wow I seriously doubt there is an official census of this. Why? Because of all the planes that are private owned and not to mention the ones that aren't registered.

There is probably no accurate way of knowing, between unregistered home built planes and non-flying museum pieces and such, not to mention foreign countries that don't even keep track of the planes.
