No. We are not. Just to make it clear it was our government. not the people.

We had a right to go into Afghanistan but not into Iraq. We told the Taliban that we wanted Osama bin Laden for what he did to us. The Taliban told us no, which is the only reason why we went into Afghanistan with much of the world backing. Had we stopped there, I think Afghanistan could have been much more prosperous and stable because the whole world intervened. Afghanistan was a failed state (for which we attributed to it) that also harbored criminals like OBL.

Iraq was not justified because it was based on faulty intelligence and the war was the product of poor planning. Besides, Iraq didn't do anything to the US.

It is a simple law of nature to defend one self. That being said; the U.S. did not defend itself. If it did, there would not have been almost 3,000 American citizens killed on September 11, 2001. Afghanistan (more specifically the Taliban) have allowed their country to be used as safe haven for the paramilitary/terrorists organization that have doctrinal and confessional allegiance to one of the most extremely perverted brands of fundamental Islam today for quite some time.

Osama Bin Laden, after claiming responsibility for several terror attacks on American assets and civilians, declared war on America in 1998. The CIA and other government agencies knew what kind of threat he represented, and still did not do enough to stop a major attack. One happened, and now we are responding in order to seek reprisals and stop future attacks by killing those who wish to kill us. This is known as "natural law".

Remember that American citizens also represent "humanity", and when someone is hell bent on killing that aspect of "humanity", because they believe they have found religious implications mandating that they should, to not defend those American citizens is to turn a blind eye to American's human suffering.

The Taliban were given an opportunity to turn over Bin Laden, and refused to. In the case of Iraq, Saddam publicly praised the 9/11 attacks, and began allowing his country to be used as safe haven for terrorists, including Zarhawi, who was in Iraq waging his Islamic Jihad against Saddams Kurdish enemies. All credible intelligence sources from around the world knew that Saddam had, at least up until the mid 90's wmd's, and probably still had them, because he did not ever account for their elimination (as he was mandated to by the U.N.). President Bush, whose first duty is to protect the American people from danger, which he didn't do before 9/11, nor did his predecessor, sought to eliminate what he believed to be a legitimate threat to U.S. national security.

As for humanity; there will always be human suffering. It is our job as human beings to create a world where that aspect of human society can be eliminated, a great way to do that is by eliminating those who don't care at all about humanity and instead lay their lives down to the blind obedience of their religious interpretations of an ancient text. Unlike ordinary citizens, the government is charged with the responsibility of making sure that humans other than Americans are the ones suffering if need be.

Attacking a nation's government and attacking its people two different. when usa attack they not only attack the government they attack the innocent people of that country. i have seen in documentry that millions of people die when USA attacks a nation. Not that it matter to america's government YET if couple of kids die in their own coutnry school they go CRAZY AND ALL EMOTIONAL yet millions of kids die while they attacked iraq and afghanistan but they do not see that. they ignore the fact that life is life american or afghani or iraqi. per one american death usa kills 1000 people in other nation. what goes around comes around!!!

yes, because they launched an unprovoked attack on us not just on 9/11 but there was the cole bombing, the wtc and various embassies around the world prior to 9/11 on several occasions...they are terrorists, they promise to get us and we are justified in protecting ourselves and seeking justice for their attacks...they are not innocents, they are not nice and you cannot negotiate with them....its either them or us and i opt for destroying them first.
