I have tried many things to stop. I smoked 3 packs a day. I smoked so much it was more than my car payments every month. The best program I have used is the "quit smoking right now program" http://tinyurl.com/yag6v4
They helped me go cold turkey and never look back. In fact, I can have a cigarette now and not want another one. That's how great it works.
I used the patch as well, and didn't smoked for 2 months but had headaches every day. the mental part is hell, no question. what worked for me is chewing big red gum, (no other flavor helped, kinda strange), and changing your habits. if you normally wake up and smoke while drinking coffee, take a walk instead and have coffee when you get back. you really have to do something totally different at those times when you would normally be smoking. it's hard to do, but someone told me that the mental craving of a cigarette only lasts for 7 minutes, so, if you can get past that 7 minutes, it'll be easier! I suggest you invest in yourself and then put the money you are saving into a jar and watch it grow, then buy yourself a nice reward for quitting. good luck to you!

I read this in a health magazine. It's supposed to have taken place in an office with 35 people. For more than 1/2 the people it worked.
They selected a date 2 months in the future that they were going to stop smoking. Everyday they looked at the date and imaged not smoking after that date, what it would feel like, how they would feel better, etc.
They continued to smoke as much as they did before if they wanted to.
Then on the date they selected they stopped smoking and 1/2 of them never smoked again.

seeing that you smoke that so much daily, your frame acquired adjusted having those poisons strolling ur frame. That's why individuals with extra severe drug disorders can truthfully die by means of quiting suddenly. You hav to take lower your quantity of cigarettes perhaps each and every few weeks or anything you are relaxed with. The cause why you had been coughing and stuff (tryign not to smoke) used to be considering the fact that your frame used to be so used to having two-five cigarettes an afternoon. So every week you must lower slowly from two-4cigarettes, then a different few weeks, two-three, then so on.

Let me recommend to you 2 books by Alan Carr: The Easy Way, and The Only Way to Stop Smoking Permanently. These books make a lot of sense and I found them to be personally successful. Good luck

I think the most logical way to quit smoking is to do it gradually, just minimize your daily ciggerrettes & take it one day at a time till your nicotine craving start wearing off, then switch to a liter brand & so on, & when you've done that, buy nicotine gum along with your lite ciggerrettes & stay that way while you keep minimizing.
Take it one step at a time. It's the only logical way that actually works!

i have had the most success with cold turkey. patches, gums, lozenges, ect just prolong your addiction. a coworker had some kind of laser procedure, and he said it takes away all of the cravings.
