I'm trying to Upgrade from Xp MCE to Windows Vista RC1 , I get to the end of the Upgrade then the screen goes blank and a few seconds later my computer reboots . I have an Athlon 64 CPU , and I'm Using the x86 DVD because the x64 one doesn't let me Upgrade , Even if I Start the computer from Windows and not the CD

I hate to tell ya, but you are fighting a losing battle, you cannot do an upgrade from xp to rc1, it will have to be a fresh install, no choice at all!

Vista is still in beta, despite what appellation Microsoft give it. I doubt if even they know why it does that. Upgrade to Linux.

its probably the new vista source where u install it from, the CD
try formatting the hard drive and try to reinstall vista from a different disk
