The New Testament was put together a little at a time as the scrolls were found in various places in the Middle East...It was not all written in one day or by one person....It took many years for the New Testament to be put togeather...The Catholic Churc was the first one to translate it....Revelations tells us not to add or subtract from the Bible so NO I would not belive any new book that some one would come up with!

The New Testament is not a "second version", which you would know if you ever read it. It is a continuation of the story begun in the Old Testament, telling how the Messiah prophesied in the OT came into the world, and accomplished the work He came to do. Then it continues with with the beginnings of the Christian church.
There where other writings after that period. Some are good for instruction and history, some were wild fabrications that didn't fit with anything that was known about Jesus.

The earliest book mentions stuff that happened in 70 AD and talks about it asa being about ten years old. The cannon was approved by 325 ad at the Council of Nicea under Emperor Constantine. The Bible was pretty stable after that with only minor changes as it was recopied.

It was written in the end part of the first century. The last writer, John, died before the turn of 100 ad, and divine revelation ended at that time. No writings after that are acceptable as scripture according to the last chapter in the Bible.
