The same reason that metal fans have a zillion tatoos and so many piercings that they set off metal detectors...the same reason cowboys have hats and boots...the same reason "hip-hoppers" wear 30 chains, a bandana and a hat and have gold teeth...it's all part of "the look."

There is a certain group we call 1%ers that cling to the old ways. They are actually less than 1% of the motorcycle populationship. Ignore them and they will go away. Most bike people are great.

They look intimidating because you don't know them and they have been given a black eye by the media. They are not sleazy. I'd take a biker over my congressman (who IS sleazy) , any day.

It's just the bike rider look wild and free. I think it's cool and most of these people are as good as or better than anyone else. there always ready to help someone in need.

Well, i don't know about that. Bikers wear leathers for protection in case a cage (car) knocks them down or they hit a slick spot on the road. The color of choice is black because it hids oil and fuel stains. and lets face it, riding bikes is a lifestyle choice, counter culture and all that.

Many of them are even worse then they look. These guys are usually not using false advertisement. They can be a great bunch but if you cross them you could end up dead.

mainly its their club thing, but its better than Gothic.
