It can be used for both. That's my daughter's middle name. I named her after a girl on a show I loved called "Savannah." And it's a little girl at our churches 1st name. I have heard it used as a boys name too. Like my favorite football player Peyton Manning. It's up to you. If you like the name then you can name either one you have that name.

Boys name by far. Every guy will instantly think of Colts QB Peyton Manning.

That said, I think it would be a cool girls name

I believe taht Peyton is a unisex name. However, most people with the name Peyton are males.
