These work:
1. Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. Any brand should do.

2. Dab egg white on your pimple and leave on for at least 20 minutes preferably overnight, this is supposed to "Suck Out" the "Nasty Stuff"

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

This isn't exactly a home remedy but much better than anything I've tried. My daughters swear it works for them too. Buy Aveeno oatmeal soap and wash your face with it a few times a day. It's very gentle too!

Zit Zappers!
"To help reduce redness and swelling in blemishes place a potato slice on the area overnight. I have used band-aids or medical tape to keep the potato in place. It worked great through my teenage years." Thanks a bunch Monica! Jess from Ohio writes; "Here's a cheap and safe alternative to popping pimples (inevitably leading to scarring)! Soak a cotton ball in warm salt water and hold it on the blemish for 3-4 minutes, the nasty white part will dissolve!"

my answer is only for the occasional one that pops up...

buy a comedome extractor (available at most stores in the beauty section) and steam your face, place the comedome extractor right over the pimple and push firmly, and out it pops! then place a cotton swab in some astringent and run on face, it dries up in a snap and to get rid of the redness, use visine :)

for recurring pimples, i have friends who use proactiv and u could never tell that they have acne, it really works!!
