When i switched it on the 'install' came on but when i pressed enter no instructions came up. The machine works but i can't get the display to appear. can anyone help please.

check all your connections and make sure the tv is tuned to it, if you press 'call' on remote, that may bring up the displays..

Mine is kind of complicated to operate too. ( SAMSUNG ) but once you program it with a new disc and set the recording time, the mode, ( EP ESP SP... then I go into program and choose which operation I want to do... copy from video to DVD or DVD to video and click enter. Then I click to enter a program and click to transfer directly. There are buttons that you press for that operation on the machine. Read your instruction book because yours may be different than mine. It copies beautifully!... I use mine to copy my own video tapes. Others have copyrights and you may not be able to copy them.
