I have sensor would like the easiest procedure.

Try to remove as much gas from the tank before you let it down.then use release tool to remove fuel lines. remove fill neck hose ,straps,and emission hoses. unplug elec connectors and let it down. Take locking ring loose and slip it out.

If you do not have a hoist take it to the repair shop. Working on a gas tank on your back is not a good idea. You need to remove the tank from the car. Remove the retaining ring from the tank module . remove the module from the tank then replace to sender.Reassemble everything and reinstall the tank on the car.Not a job to be done on your back.
