Someone wise once told me, "expectations are resentments waiting to happen". I do think you are mistaken in this instance. This is a great opportunity to be gracious and just simply resign yourself to the fact that your family are not nearly as delightful and thoughtful as you are. Not everyone has such emotional intelligence. Try not to let it hurt your feelings. It may help you feel better if you do a good deed for someone. When I have been wronged, it makes me feel better to do something very nice for someone else. It takes the focus off self pity.

I think it's thoughtful for them to have sent a card at all. You shouldn't be mad but I understand you might feel a little hurt but that's an issue you have. There's no way for them to know that you are that sensitive about what type of card you get unless you tell people. Once you start demanding a 'real' card over one from a box, than you start to look like the person who's got the problem. Don't be so hard on people. I don't send cards at all so just be glad your cousins made any effort at all.

You know I sent all of my cousins, aunts and uncles and even my parents the same card from a box of cards. It is the thought that counts. Do they treat you good throughout the year? Are they there for you when you need them? One day throughout the whole year does not define whether or not they love you or not. I am sure they love you very much.

Christmas is about giving without expecting to recieve. You should never expect to recieve anything from other people at all. Its not a trade day. Gifts do not equal love. They are also not your direct family so you are extending your christmas gift giving too far any way.

Love is not expressed in the value of the gift or if you get a gift. Have your cousins been treating you nicely, if yes, thats all that matters.

I understand what your saying. However, they took the time to send you a card. They did not have to, it's the thought that counts, it does not matter if they purchased a box of cards or a single card to send you.
All in all...........they still showed you they love you by sending you a card.

One should be thankful and gracious when one receives any type of gift. They took the time to give you a card and money, you should be thankful for that.

oh give me a break ... why couldn't it be one from a box? Box cards are the best way to buy them.
I have NEVER EVER received a Christmas card, not to mention a gift, from any of my cousins.

If you did not expect an extravagant gift, then why are you complaining about box cards?
