That is somewhat of a difficult question as you gave no details as to what type of help they may need. Some people donot accept help willingly, but there are some people that need help, willnot ask , and hope that another steps in and does help. If the relationship is okay, then you may offer your help depending on what is needed. Sometimes help is secretly given without mentioning names. Then you become the Good Samaritan. This will truly make you feel better knowing that you have done all that you can do even if this person doesnot realize where the help came from.

Just be there if they need you, and listen. If it gets too much where you cant do any more, then its time to talk to someone who can. Keep your mind open and try to really hear. You never said what the problem was, I hope this helps.
