I have about 90lbs I want to lose but would like to get a good start if I can. I love that show Biggest Loser and I see how they lost 10 or more in a week. Just curious if its really possible and what I could do. What I need to eat, and what kind of exercise I need to do? Please no smart remarks, I really need help. Thank you!

Cut out sugar, soda, and refined foods, as well as white flour. This means white bread, cereal, junk food, pastries, and eat lots of fruits and vegetables and also drink lots of water. This is totally possible because i lost 90 pounds in 6 months.

i know that you're going through , the media is always about being thin , but it's your health that counts, you want a better life and want to look your best as soon as possible
the quickest way to lose weight is to stop eating and excercise , but it will lead to dehydration and is very dangerous, never try any of those diets that promise quick fixes they are just no good, you will probably gain back all the weight with medical problems which you definitely don't want so it is possible but not worth the risk .
if you want to lose weight , keep it off , stay healthy and enjoy life you should think of changing your life style
think of what you're eating, is it high in fat( e.g. fried or has butter or oil in it?) is it high in sugar? are you eating a lot of fast food ?
think of your daily activities as well, are you excercising? do you walk / jog/ dance/ jump rope every day or every other day? are you active? do you go to a gym?
you will see that you are not active enough nor are you eating enough healthy food or decreasing your caloric intake to lose weight
i suggest you go to your gp for advice or go to a registered dietician and join a gym or start walking every day or any cardio activity like running up and down the stairs, riding a bicycle, swimming. skiing., dancing, or any aerobics activity on a dvd you can get , you can also go to nikewomen.com and try their workouts , you have to do these things for at least 30 min a day, and if you can take a break every ten minutes or break it into 10-20 min excrcises 3 times a day or so to reach a total of 30 min or more per day. you can go for a brisk walk in the morning for 20 min then in the evening walk or run up and down the stairs at home for 10 men or dance for 20 min or jump rope , whatever you prefer as long as you're active.
by time you will feel more fit and you can start at the same time or later to build more muscle by doing squats , pushups and situps.
you didn't gain fat overnight to lose it quickly so you will have to be patient and take it one day at a time , you will probably see results in a few months so long as you continue and keep in mind you want to change your lifestyle for good.

also try seeing a dr or dietician as well as joining a gym / local health club or getting a personal trainer at least once a week to guide you for the rest of the week.
please don't get any medications or follow drasic diets because they cause more harm than good
i hope your reach your target weight while staying healthy and looking and feeling great
good luck

I have to be honest with you - it's more important to lose weight safely versus quickly. With this said, I'm going to recommend that you first understand that you are not going to lose weight as fast as you would like; however, the healthier way that you lose weight, the more likely you are to keep it off and lead a healthy lifestyle going forward.

Extreme weight loss (like the program seen on the Biggest Loser) is extremely taxing on your body, especially if your body is not acquainted to exercising and eating as the program directs; however, IT CAN BE DONE with relentless discipline and self-control (and if you ignore your body when it's telling you to stop this craziness). Most people aren't able to keep this up. For your own sanity, try a program such as the South Beach Diet or Weight Watchers. These two programs are the ones I hear are most successful (especially the latter) and I've seen friends succeed with these plans!

A few points about eating: DON'T COMPLETELY CUT OUT CARBS! No matter how much weight you need to lose, your body needs carbs for your mental functions and energy. Eat complex cabohydrates (such as whole wheat bread) rather than simple carbohydrates (as unused simple carbs turn immediately into fat), and eat the majority of your carbs earlier in the day.

Eat foods with natural sugar (such as fruits) rather than foods that contain white sugar or brown sugar.

Regarding fats, try to keep your intake to a minimum (you can still consume a little fat from food and still lose weight). In other words, eat foods that are low in fat.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER. As cliche as it sounds, it helps to speed up your metabolism and curbs an appetite that usually isn't there.

Lastly, watch your portions and don't eat after 7 PM. I can't begin to tell you how much this tripped me up when I was trying to lose weight. It's important to eat whenever you are hungry and STOP when you are satisfied - before you are full.

As for exercise, the programs I find my body shape changing the fastest with is Pilates and Tae Kwon Do, especially TKD! Any form of self-defense class, really, is effective. If you engage in self-defense classes on a regular basis, you should already begin to see results in the first week or two!

Good luck to you!

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body building so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! I lost 8 lbs in 7 days after I stopped drinking soda (drink plenty of water), ate just salad, carrots (without any dressing because salad dressing is almost pure fat), broth, fruits (canned and fresh). I also used the stairs at work instead of using the elevator. I read somewhere that starving yourself will only cause your body metabolism to slow down (which means your not going to burn any fat), so I think it is better to eat all the time but watch what you eat and control your portions. I also counted calories, there are many excellent web sites like www.calorie-count.com/ that lists how much calories are in the food so you can see which foods are fattening.
You can do it!! Goodluck!

honestly, the best way to lose weight fast is to diet and exercise. and it is possible to lose ten or more a week but probably for only about the first couple of weeks, and then it might get to smaller numbers, if you want to lose 90 pounds i suggest you doing cardio like running or walking, but there are also other cardio exercises you can do... i reccomend doing Jullian Michales' (from the Biggest loser!!!!) DVDs it really helped me and it is AWSOME!!!! I hope you reach your goal, and i hope this helped you.. GOOD LUCK!! :)

There is no solution that you don't already know every doctor will tell you the same thing.Eat less exercise more. When i was in the army i watched several people lose over 50lbs in 3 months. No pills no tricks just no snacks only three meals a day and lots of exercise. This doesn't work only sometimes it works every time.

Stick with low carbs, nothing white or yellow including bread. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and exercise for 30 minutes each day. You have to burn more calories than you take in.

aI would like to caution you in your weight quest to loose weight.

Our body fat also stores a certain amount of toxins.. If we drop weight too quickly the toxins are released faster than our body can effectively eliminate them. You can become very ill, roughly like being poisoned.

And keep in mind if you loose weight that fast you are going to have a lot of loose skin

A steady slow weight loose is much safer. The most successful diet is to reduce the total number of calories and increase your activity. Exercise.

Each extra pound you have is made of 3500 calories your body did not burn. To loose one pound you have to burn 3500 extra calories more than you take in.

Also keep in mind that if you crash diet your body will go into starvation mode. It will slow your metabolism down and use calories even more efficiently. Once you get you Brody instarvatoin mode itr is very hard to get it to return to normal. and starvatoin mode makes it almost impossible to loose weight!

Soo eat three meals a day at regular times. Reduce your caloric intake to about 1200 get more exercise. It may take a while for you to loose all the weight you want but when you loose weight at slower steadier pace and you attend to the nurition, you are most likley to tke it off an keep it off.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!
