Okay, I have a friend, lets call him Jack, and Jack, I have liked him for almost a year.I dont see him all too much. He is in my theater group which just finished for the year. We dont go to the same school, but everythime I see him, we really click. He is a great guy, and so easy to talk to. He always makes me laugh, and I just dont know what to do. He sometimes flirts with me. Like he jokingly calls me Shannon, to which I just up and call him Jaquese, and we have gone on with that for hours at a time. I would have tried to talk to him about this, but I only ever see him when we are in a group of our friends, and I dont want to put him in an awkward position. And other times I am sure he doesnt like me. But that might just be my pesimistic atitude. I dont know what to do. Help.

Sweetie, you are gonna drive yourself nuts turning this over in your head...ain't nothing to it but to do it!!! You are gonna have to say or do something. You both participate in the same theatre group?...HELLO, shared interests! Asking for his number or to hang with you to see a show wouldn't put him in an awkward position. Get a little one-on-one time with him to 1)Give him a chance to appoach you first or 2)You are just gonna have to work up a little nerve and let him know you're diggin him

If you can't be alone with him at school, ask if he wants to hang out outside of school. You don't have to tell him you "like" him right away. He might get the idea when you ask him to hang out though. Or for a less direct approach, ask for his email and phone number in case you ever want to chat it up (that's less threatening). When you're hanging out, you can gradually find out if he's seeing someone/likes someone or if he's interested in you. From there, you can make a more informed decision.

He talks to you, can't be all that bad. Try to find out how much he likes you.
