I have naturally wavy hair but I normally have it straightened. The length is just
above my bra strap. I want to get layers but I want to keep the length. Do you think it would look any good? Should I get long or short layers?

Long layers definitely. I have naturally wavy hair too, and what I've found with short layers is that it makes the bottom layers of your hair very light, and may cause it to flip out. Hair that flips out is cute with long layers, but not with short layers. And trust me, no matter how much you straighten it in the morning, it will start to flip again by the middle of the day.
Long layers is also way more versatile. Since you straighten your hair, if one day you don't feel like straightening it or something, you can always put it up. I have short layers, and I kind of hate it because I also have to bobby pin the short layers when I put it up in a ponytail. It's kind of a hassle.

Do NOT get short layers-every time I've gotten or been done by St.....Hairadresser always regretted-long layers are better to do esp the first time for can always go shorter but cannot gop longer if you do not like the shorter and short layers are a real hassle to grow out-usually have to suffer through it.

I guess it depends on the look you are going for. With long layers you can still put your hair up in a pony tail if you want to. With short layers, pieces fall out of the pony tail, which isn't altogether a bad thing.
My hair is long but I have short, choppy layers. I can wear it pin straight or with messy waves.
When I wear it up, little pieces fall down around my face, giving me a very carefree look.
Find a picture of a style you like and talk to your stylist. He/she will be able to guide you in the right direction.

I prefer hair that will is shoulder length or longer, And also since that men who like ladies are more often then not directly, they like long hair because it looks more feminine, as most guys have short hair.

Opt for short layers if you want to leave your hair down
Opt for long layers if you want to gather your hair
I personally prefer the second option.

lengthy hair is nice but requires maintenance and u have to grow it out for a long time
